Davie has just finished doing internal work in our new house. From the first meeting to look at the job his communication was first class. He kept us up to date at every stage and let us know if things had to change. The whole project went smoothly and the team of people working with him were just as good. We are really pleased with all his work...removing walls, patio doors and making good all walls etc. would recommend Davie to anyone looking for a reliable, efficient and friendly builder. Very happy with the build. Everything went smoothly, Shaun came to our house to discuss the initial quote. What surprised me was Shaun had a full breakdown quote ready the first time we met, by using the online planning with the required work. The final quote had increased but that was due to us wanting extra items such as exterior light and composite doors plus painting. No hidden or extra charges. Everything went as agreed and on time, although the weather did hold the build back on some days. The only trade that was a letdown was the painter, not by the quality of work but reliability, subcontracted and Shaun was quick to sort the issue out right away. Every trade was on time and did the work as agreed to spec. The level of professionalism is what surprised me the most from each trade. From the men doing the ground work and foundations to the electrician. As the customer myself and my parents were spoken to with respect from all the tradesmen and they took their time to explain when we had questions. Huge thank you to Graham the electrician who advised us on the best positions for the exterior spotlights. There was a delay in getting the completion certificate as our build was completed just before lockdown but we have had everything signed and checked by the council. Overall the porch with wc extension looks even better than we could imagine and I would recommend this company to anyone looking to get the same type of work. My team also specialise in Loft Conversions of modern property, with a suitable solution for almost all properties. I also have a team of tradesmen available to assist on larger jobs as well as access to Architectural and Structural Engineering teams. We can also liaise with Building Control on your behalf.
The bathroom looks nice enough, but the finishing was rushed. I would recommend when hiring anyone ensures that they take time to properly size the extent of the job in advance. Some of the tradesmen gave very low unrealistic quotes, in hindsight probably to secure the job at these hard times. John worked hard but was too pushed at the end. The price went up which was reasonable, but you have to assume, in good faith the job has been done properly. There have been no problems to date in terms of the plumbing. STAY CLEAR!! Tommy responded to an initial job of removing a load bearing wall however we had to wait for building warrant to come through. In the meantime I had another major job which he agreed to complete at a cash price. Tommy and team have been on my property for 5 weeks and he now refuses to finish the job he started. He has been paid £9000 IN CASH and left me with unfinished electrical works, holes in ceilings, unfinished plastering in attic, hallway and ceilings. Photos have been taken I will be seeing legal advice. This man will take large sums of money upfront and will continue to move goal posts with cost, adding more and more onto original quote. My house is in a state that I now need to rectify at my own added expense. All I have I have to show for £9000 is 2 new velux windows and half finished attic that I cannot access as he refuses to install the stairs until I pay him even more money. Daylight robbery, he's obviously pulled this stunt with others. Be warned!
