It would have been easy to build this job into a much bigger one but Gaz took time to trace the leak and then look for the reason for it, which turned out to be some failed pointing in a valley. Gaz turned up on the date agreed, completed the repair for the agreed price and sent me photo's to show the problem. He cleared up after the job and then followed up with a phone call to check that I was happy with the job. I have found them to be sensible, polite and very keen on safety. I have had good advice about choosing a stove, the work has been done on time and very, very neatly. Each time Mr Brownlow has made a point of explaining the best way to use the stove and has emphasized how to use it safely. The first time we had had difficulty getting any builder to look at our chimney because of the age of the building and because we are in a conservation area, but Mr Brownlow was clearly confident and experienced, unlike an "ordinary" builder who didn't seem to know what to do with our narrow, twisting chimney. We had been told that it would be "impossible" to fit a modern liner, but they managed it no problem. I would recommend Ramsbottom stoves wholeheartedly, and we really enjoy having a wood burning stove. They also sell and deliver dry, good quality firewood.
