He didnt want to look at the job to quote he just went by photographs. When he turned up, I was confused as 2 scruffy men were walking down the country lane outside my house, one with a pack of gripper rods on his shoulder and the other carrying a few tools.They began work and came to me with a issue.The carpet join was left with a gap of upto 10mm in places and as they couldnt stretch the carpet to the gripper, it was laying unevenly across the whole room. His tool to fix this was in his van, but the van wasnt here.he got a taxi to my house. He knows all the carpet fitters in Swindon, and they would charge a max of £100 to sort the join. He asked to deduct the £100 from his fee, which I refused. if it was that easy to sort the join out, then he can arrange this himself and I will pay him. He was not happy as he had fitted all of the carpet, underlay and gripper. He left without being paid and said he would arrange for the join to be fixed.I never heard from him. I have since got another carpet fitter to look, and as Kirin has fitted the carpet to the walls, and there is a gap at the join, the whole carpet needs replacing as there isnt enough to play with to close the join. The join was held together by spray adhesive onto woollen underlay. To replace the carpet and have re-fitted is at a cost of £1,765, and Kirin is refusing to answer any of my messages. I do not believe he has any experience in fitting carpets.Latest review:Carpets & Lino-
