I originally gained my experience through my love of DIY. I bought my first home and I rennovated it myself. My second home was a new build but I laid oak flooring throughout. When I married my wife and I bought an old Victorian house that needed completely ripped out from walls being knocked down to tiling, floors being laid, fencing being built, painting and decorating and eventually I built a shed and decking in the yard to make it a nice sanctuary in the Summer. Over the last 30 years not only have I renovated 3 homes I have also worked for family and friends more as a handyman but since taking redundancy 2 years ago I decided to work for myself concentrating more on making seated benches, laying floors, decking, fencing, outdoor kitchens, bars, media walls and paneling. I love learning new skills especially when working with wood. I work mostly in South Tyneside but I have got clients just outside of the area. I have my own vehicle and I can source materials on your behalf if neccesary. While I am not a time served joiner, for years I have learned how to work to a high standard. I believe it is important to be reliable, honest and I charge a fair price for a quality job, leaving you with a home or business to be proud of.

Over a decade of experience, small family run business located in Truro. Services Include: (but are not limited to) Bespoke Furniture (shelves, tables, storage, etc.) Outdoor Builds (pergolas, planters, trellises, decking, patios) Custom Joinery (kitchens, bathrooms, fitted wardrobes, staircases) Renovations & Conversions (garage/loft conversions, home improvements) General Repairs & Maintenance Services Hi, I'm Josh, I've been working with wood for as long as I can remember fitting kitchens with my dad when I was young and always tinkering away at projects. After spending five years as an engineer in the Army , I came back to carpentry, working on all sorts of jobs, big renovations, small fixes, custom builds - whatever needed doing! I've worked self-employed as a carpenter and maintenance guy for numerous holiday homes, businesses, and domestic clients across Cornwall, but I always wanted to build a business of my own. That's where Lazy Cat Carpentry comes in. With the support of my partner, in early 2025, we decided to take the leap and turn my passion into a business, and now I get to spend my time doing what I love.
