After spending five years as an engineer in the Army , I came back to carpentry, working on all sorts of jobs, big renovations, small fixes, custom builds - whatever needed doing! I've worked self-employed as a carpenter and maintenance guy for numerous holiday homes, businesses, and domestic clients across Cornwall, but I always wanted to build a business of my own. That's where Lazy Cat Carpentry comes in. With the support of my partner, in early 2025, we decided to take the leap and turn my passion into a business, and now I get to spend my time doing what I love.

My name is Ciaran. I have a few years experience working in the construction industry, both in landscaping and joinery. I have worked on a wide variety of fencing and decking projects with a wide range of materials, from wood to composite deckings. I also have some experience building bin stores and small out buildings. My preferred medium is wood as it is the more sustainable and in my opinion better looking option. However, I am happy to work with whatever material fits your needs. I always shop around for the best quality and most sustainable materials, using reclaimed wood where possible but only if appropriate for the job. I also offer garden maintenance services, including mowing, hedge trimming, weeding and planting. I always price on a job by job basis to ensure the fairest price for both parties. This begins with a free site visit to assess the job, I will then go and source materials and figure out how long I think it will take me to do the job. I will then send a quote, once agreed we can book the work in. I'm a friendly, personable guy who is easy to work with.
