I couldn't recommend Richard highly enough. Having been engaged for one en-suite bathroom renovation initially, he ended up being with us for 6 months. In that time he built and renovated four new ensuite bathrooms (two of which were built from from a large sluice cupboard and wardrobe space another was split into a new en-suite and wardrobe), he created a new spare room from an existing outdated bathroom, stripping out and moving walls and radiators, added and fitted a walk-in wardrobe to a bedroom creating new walls and doorways, he created a new downstairs WC from a coat and boot room, created and finished a new corridor and archway from kitchen to new dining room (previously a WC), added picture and dado rails to all rooms and corridors and built a beautiful four-door cupboard to a very high standard. Rich undertook all building, carpentry, plastering, fitting, tiling, flooring, finishing and plumbing work himself, even hanging mirrors, painting, adding dado rails, fitting stair rails and installing high level extraction fans which others wouldn't undertake. Nothing phased him, nothing was too much trouble, he supported in designing spaces, worked around other trades and carpet fitters and his finish is excellent. Richard was always tidy when working and thoughtful about protecting the workspace and despite several challenges, he was always smiling, pleasant and never gave up on us. We now have a top class renovation and we are over-the-moon with it all.

I am currently at college with around 2 months left taking a level 3 carpentry and joinery course , eager to gain more experience and also start working for myself. I’ve worked with other carpenters and have had experience doing first fix carpentry ( stud walls , flooring etc ) and second fix carpentry ( doors , skirting , wardrobe fitting etc ) I’ve also had experience doing landscape gardening on the side which has consisted of repairing or fitting new fences and also slabbing etc.

I selected Mark because of his Carpenter skills, he came May bank holiday and to save more damage to Tiled Canopy he erected wooden support to prevent the canopy collapsing. This gave time for assessment to be done. Mark explained clearly re the work to be done and quoted a very competitive price. Work completed to our satisfaction he was very pleasant to deal with and reassuring plus being very tidy worker will recommend and use him again

Problems experienced just after the doors were fitted, including one hinge working loose. Hinge packing was visible on two doors. Some refitting was necessary by me afterwards. Will not be using J H Plumbing and Property Maintenance again.
