Paul was very fast to respond to the job, The job was a fair distance away from his home address and I explained that I made a mistake selecting him to quote for the job thinking I had chosen a trades-person closer to the job site. That said Paul was okay with the traveling distance and we negotiated a price that suited us both. After a few phone calls to work out the kinks I ordered up and paid for the loft insulation after chatting with Paul about the required quantity and had it delivered to the worksite the day before installation. Paul arrived on the job site at 8am as arranged, Paul did the work as specified leaving the worksite in a clean and tidy state. Paul Answered all calls or responded to voice mail messages left in a very timely manner (less than 12 hours), Turned up when he said he would, Did the job I asked him to do, Charged the agreed price. All said and done it's been a good trades person / client transaction, I have added Paul to my trades contact list.

Polbuilt carried out kitchen refurbishment. Dominik, who is in charge of Polbuilt, is a trustworthy and amiable individual who aims to please and will generally make sure that things are progressing in the right direction. He went out of his way on a couple of occasions to accommodate my requests for additional work to be performed, and to rearrange the days that his workmen would be on-site. Unfortunately, the workmanship on display did not meet my expectations (with the exception of the plastering) The skirting became a snagging issue. Dominick made some effort to get things rectified, but in the end I was being made to feel like I a perfectionist for wanting skirting that is securely fastened to the wall and skirting boards that are not badly warped. (there is still one there, after a whole morning spent 'refitting' the skirting). I'm not a perfectionist, just want decent quality workmanship. To be fair, most of the other stuff was relatively minor. However, it was extremely annoying to deal with on a daily basis. Some of the slip-ups and corner cutting may have been due to the tight timescales imposed by Dominik, and he has assured me that he will make more of an effort to avoid this situation in the future. Polbuilt come on time, are pleasant to deal with, and will get your job done for a decent price. But due to the number of slip-ups and overall quality of workmanship, I feel unable to give more than a neutral rating this time.
