The service received from Sundeep and DCE global was above what I had expected. Sundeep attended my property late on a Sunday evening at short notice on bank holiday weekend to complete structural survey. A fast turnaround also for receiving the report via e-mail. To note- payment was expected up front- a point I was cautious about with no jobs completed- however I have received the service I had expected along with a basic report on the suitability of structural change I had planned- perhaps this could have been a bit better by being sent as a PDF on headed paper, however it should suffice for the purpose I required it for- along with the fact I have never had this type of work done- so this may be standard practice.

She listened to what I wanted, gave great advice, did everything she said she would, handled the local council in a friendly and efficient way and came up with some great plans and alternatives for my limited space. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs an architect.

This is my first negative review. I am compelled to write because these types of services can be costly & timely when they go wrong. I met with Mr Mistry in Oct 2018 & agreed services & fees. Before submitting the plans, he said the agreed fees were wrong & he needed more. He did not physically inspect the loft & 3 builders said his measurements were inaccurate & bathroom location unfeasible. He advised me to submit 2 apps (loft conversion & extension) & then said 4 months later he had withdrawn the 2nd & to wait before resubmitting the 2nd! The ext was refused Apr 2019. He submitted a pre-app to see what could be approved. If he was unsure, he should've suggested the pre-app back in Oct 2018. He overcharged me £150 & only acknowledged it when I told him. He returned the money 6 weeks later! After asking repeatedly about progress, he copied me on an email to the council & on impulse I wrote to the case officer on his email only to find that the email address was bad & bounced back. After investigation, I located the real case officer who wrote to me expressing surprise that my architect even submitted the initial plans. On top of that, I also discovered that he did not submit the pre-app plans until 4 weeks after he said he had done it & overcharged me. Devan appears inexperienced, has poor attention to detail and you may draw your own conclusions around why he miscommunicated fees, email addresses, progress and actual submission dates to me.

Although I didn't use Petal Gardens for the landscaping and planting work, it was actually a difficult choice because their quote was only marginally above the successful contractor. However, Malvina produced 2 very detailed and attractive 2D & 3D designs at very reasonable cost, and I was so impressed that I decided to use one of them as a basis for the final design.

Gordon is a very nice chap and was one of the only architects we spoke to that encouraged us to go for planning permission on a two story project where others told us it would not be possible. Planning was granted and we have Gordon in large part to thank. He also came up with a great suggestion which we had not considered to add a window to the side of our extension to avoid it feeling 'like a box', which we did, and with the project now completed we are very pleased we decided to do so. This was our first building project, and Gordon provided us with some useful advice on finding the right builder too. The only negative experience we had was some measurements were initially incorrect, which led to some stress later on with the structural engineer which could have been avoided. Gordon did however come to the property fairly promptly to re-measure. Overall it was a positive experience and we would consider using Gordon and his team again. Thank you Gordon and Robert.
