COVID19: We are continuing to visit sites to a limited extent and within all the safety measures and Government’s recommendations. When this is not possible We are also adopting new techniques, such as shared video footage of onsite work in progress or for new potential jobs. Recognising and understanding that every project is unique and has its own set of constraints, I see my work as an opportunity to create a rational and interactive design solution with my clients.
Alex has been brilliant. I was apprehensive about using an architect that had not been personally recommended but we have not been disappointed. Alex really listened to what we wanted to achieve and has been very accommodating in all aspects of the design phase. All revisions were done in a timely manner and with attention to detail. Alex is the third architect we have used for various build projects and definitely the best of the lot! One of 2 companies from whom I obtained a quote for garden design and build. Although I didn't use Petal Gardens for the landscaping and planting work, it was actually a difficult choice because their quote was only marginally above the successful contractor. A specialist loft conversion company that has been in business for 20 years, however, we have since branched out to all types of projects (extensions, refurbs, garage conversions etc). We can prepare and submit drawings on your behalf, for Planning Permission and Building Regulation Approval. Also, we can carry out the structural design, meaning you don't need to employ an architect! However, if you have drawings done already, we are happy to price your project and build from these.
Asset Lofts came to our rescue when another company had let us down. They were professional and genuinely supportive right from the outset. The loft conversion (inc. full chimney removal) and patio works were completed in 5 weeks and this in our eyes was a building miracle. The workmanship and finish is of the highest standard. They hold accreditation with many of the industries leading bodies and that sets them apart from others. I charge an initial consultation fee of £60 when I will visit the site and advise on possibilities. This fee is waived /refunded on appointment to prepare a design scheme. no VAT.
Hired Brian, to design the layout for a 1st floor extension, new ensuite, layout reconfiguration and an orangery extension. He was very knowledge and professional with his approach he thinks beyond just the general designs. He is able to highlight logistical and building issues at the design stage and deliver potential solutions to over come such problems rather than dealing with them at build stage when it could be costly and counter productive. This is my first negative review. I am compelled to write because these types of services can be costly & timely when they go wrong. I met with Mr Mistry in Oct 2018 & agreed services & fees. Before submitting the plans, he said the agreed fees were wrong & he needed more. He did not physically inspect the loft & 3 builders said his measurements were inaccurate & bathroom location unfeasible. He advised me to submit 2 apps (loft conversion & extension) & then said 4 months later he had withdrawn the 2nd & to wait before resubmitting the 2nd! The ext was refused Apr 2019. He submitted a pre-app to see what could be approved. If he was unsure, he should've suggested the pre-app back in Oct 2018. He overcharged me £150 & only acknowledged it when I told him. He returned the money 6 weeks later! After asking repeatedly about progress, he copied me on an email to the council & on impulse I wrote to the case officer on his email only to find that the email address was bad & bounced back. After investigation, I located the real case officer who wrote to me expressing surprise that my architect even submitted the initial plans. On top of that, I also discovered that he did not submit the pre-app plans until 4 weeks after he said he had done it & overcharged me. We hired Earthmate to install fencing and a gate for our driveway, as well as to lay tarmac, and we couldn't be more pleased with their work.
