Also noticed that a second roof had failed. Showed me pictures taken on site as proof. Quote was very much cheaper than others but the job spec was listed in detail to describe what they would do. Came when said and let me know by text. Cleaned and tidied up very well on completion. Would not hesitate to use again and in fact have asked them to do some more repairs. We are the fourth generation in our family of builders and take enormous pride in our work. If the job can't be done properly and bullet proof we walk away. We cover most aspects of construction - are hands on and have undertaken training at the Lime Centre in Winchester on restoration work which has allowed us to work on many listed buildings and we specialise in working with cob. Gas Safe and LPG qualified too.
Get in touchI'm going to write a bit more here but if you read no further, the headlines are: excellent workmanship, commitment and pride in the job, great communication and punctual, really nice guys, always easy to talk to. All in all, I thoroughly recommend J Nimenko & Son. We had a sealed-off and plastered fireplace in our kitchen, I had stripped it back to brickwork so the job was to raise and rebuild the lintel, fit extraction ducting for a cooker, a fairly extensive amount of brickwork and re-pointing. Our house is fairly old (1880) and has accumulated layers of stuff over the years. John's work was able to reveal and re-work the original features using traditional skills (where it could be seen) and modern structural work (underneath where needed). I'm keen on the details and John was happy to discuss these extensively in regards to use of lime, shades of mortar and pointing styles. I've no doubt the job would have been great regardless but for me it was great to have someone on hand who was interested and in tune with the details and most importantly, able to deliver. The end result was fantastic and I'm chuffed each time I look at it. Superb brickwork which really enhances the character of the house and completely delivers an effortless balance of rustic roughness and style. I enjoy renovation myself and like to do as much as I can myself, I don't often have people in but in this case I am very glad to have found John and his son to do this work for us.Latest review:Restoration & Refurbishment-
