We hired Jack to reinforce our living room wall so that it could support our new TV. He was very responsive in the lead up to the job and was very accommodating , fitting us into an evening slot. The work he carried out was of the highest standard and he made sure to neaten everything up once he was finished. Whenever we require any other jobs, Dalton Developments will be the first we contact and cannot recommend them enough!

Russell completed several small jobs including replacing floor joists and boards, removing a fireplace, overboard a ceiling and extending a patrician wall. The work was completed quickly, neatly and he was happy to accommodate any awkward requests. He was available Saturday and Sundays which suited me. Overall I was very pleased his work and timekeeping.

Craig has completed two jobs for me. Both were complete refurbishments/renovations of properties. This included both single storey and two storey extensions, new roofs, new bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms, drains, re-wiring, plumbing, groundworks and landscaping. Re-decoration and floor coverings. All the work was done to a superb standard, on time and in budget. I would have no problem recommending Craig on any of the above.

Some good points, some bad. Jobs crossed over which meant mine was delayed and he kept disappearing to sort problems with another job. This made me late starting to trade from that building. Only put ceiling on the office and none of the other rooms leaving all cabling/electrics bare. Added extra on at the end of the job for electrics. Used ready fixed concrete plinths(?) to run ceilings from which meant the walls were too high. This made the 2nd tier useless due to there being only just over 5' before you hit your head on the ceiling. Very expensive when taking the value of the materials and time taken into consideration. Nice guy but would not use him again. My advice... get everything drawn up and in writing! This is my second time using mybuilder and my last. It is full of cowboys and when reported, mybuilder do NOTHING about it!!

Quotation provided was within our budget. Works schedule provided to ensure clear list of work that would be completed by the builder and what needs to be supplied by ourselves. Approx timescale of 3 months work for completion. Workman were very punctual and all hardworking. At each stage of the renovation any additional works required were agreed before proceeding. Due to the condition of our internal walls we needed to agree additional work to replace them. Builder agreed to plaster board plus labour, which was as expected. All jobs at each stage were organised by the builder and at no stage were there any hold ups. There were some issues with the double glazing firm used but again A1 builders organised replacements and communicated with all parties to ensure the project completed on time. At any stage if something didn't look right from our original request we were consulted before proceeding. Example was we had originally requested two velux window in our extension but before cutting out we were advised that 3 would look better and let in more light. We are so glad we chose this option because A1 builders were correct. We also requested A1 builders to fit our Kitchen and tile our floor which again was in addition but we we agreed on a price before work started. All work was carried out to a high standard and exceeded our expectations. All workmen used by A1 builders were hard working and left work areas tidy before leaving the premises. Our house is now a home.

I recently hired Mark to tile my floor, install a shower tray, and put up a shower screen. Not only was Mark extremely punctual, arriving exactly when promised or earlier, but his communication throughout the entire process was exceptional. He kept me informed every step of the way, answering all my questions promptly and thoroughly. He provided excellent value for money. Even when I had one small issue where a tile hadn’t adhered properly he had no issue in coming back. Overall a very nice person and very trustworthy

Small chimney breast removed and plaster boarded and skimmed. Really happy with the standard of work completed, it has made a huge difference to the room although in reality not much extra space gained. The only small negative thing would be that communication could be improved slightly re when someone is going to be coming to do some work, although I do fully appreciate that managing several projects at the same time is probably a bit of a headache. I liked the fact that a 'complete' job was carried out rather than having to find different trades myself...everyone I met was friendly and polite. The quote was fair, and remained fixed with no unexpected or additional costs over budget. I would happily use the company again for future works.

I would strongly advise against using this company. The work was left unfinished and my property was left in a terrible state. They caused a leak, and the quality of the decorating was extremely poor – uneven paintwork, visible patches, incomplete skirting boards, loads of mess left, their own rubbish from their lunch and paint drips down electrical sockets. Overall, a very unprofessional job and a stressful experience. Save yourself the trouble and avoid them.
