We are due to start our work in January. We choose Alan Whyte Construction before 4 other building companies for the following reasons. The first time we met Alan he arrived promptly. As he walked through the door he asked if we wanted him to take his shoes off. We talked through our plans with him, we had already sent architectural/structual drawings to him to look at & it was obvious through our conversation that he had been bothered to look at them prior to our initial meeting. Alan asked me to breakdown all the work in email form and send it to him.( I had asked for this to be priced by area so that I could see what each bit of work would cost). Alan explained that this was what he preferred to do & that his quote would be a fixed price not an approximate price, which was music to my ears! All other builders who quoted said they didn't have the time to breakdown costs & could only give an approximate price, which could end up being anything!! Alan has been on the ball so far in every aspect, fingers crossed this will continue! A commencement date has been set & a payment structure has been agreed. I have been in contact with a recent customer of Alan's who gave a very good reference to me and gave me a tour of the work that Alan's team completed for him via face to face on WhatsApp. I will update this site again as the process progresses.

We asked Alan to quote for this job and the price we received was competitive compared with other quotes we received. After a few modifications to the build spec a final price was agreed and a start date planned. The builders turned up on the expected day and immediately got to work, thereafter, the guys turned up religiously every day and on time until the project was complete. Our requirements to maintain neighbor relationships were met and often exceeded by the guys when onsite. During the build we had several instances were 'things didn't go to plan' due to mistakes during the planning process (nothing to do with Whytes builders), solutions were identified by Alan and his guys and often at their own cost which helped ease the stress and pressure on us. Overall, we love our new extension, I can't fault the build quality, the extension finised ahead of schedule and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Whytes building contractors.

Since first acceptance through My Builder of the request quote, the communication and professionalism displayed has been exceptional. There have always been updates, quick responses and information provided at all points from the quotation period, through to the completion of the building works. The quotation itself provided a fantastic level of detail and clearly displayed exactly what was being paid for at a fixed price, which has never deviated throughout the build. This I must add, has provided extreme reassurance to us as a customer with a tight budget. With previous building works I have had completed on properties, this is something which has always been the stumbling block, with extra costs creeping in part way through the build. Since the commencement of the build, all work has been completed to the agreed timescales and with a great team to a high standard. The build itself is now finished and we could not be happier with the finished product. I would certainly recommend A Whyte’s to others (and have), and will be asking them to complete other projects on the house in the future.

Alan and his team were absolute professionals throughout the build. They were always willing to discuss how to get the project exactly as intended and to keep the work progressing and completed in the best time. I would absolutely recommend them. Thanks to all involved.

Job included new doorway, add partition wall, move radiators, hang doors, plaster, add skirting & coving. Arrived on time each day (8am) & left at between 5 & 6pm - no slacking. Quality tradesmen, went above & beyond to improve what I had envisaged. Happy to discuss what they were doing & why. Recommended.

I cannot speak highly enough of the standard of workmanship, the whole team were professional from start to finish, nothing was too much trouble. I would have no hesitation recommending them and would certainly hire them for any future works. Thank you Alan and your team.

Prompt response for estimate and once work agreed stuck to printed schedule.Workers were all friendly and professional and worked long hours on the project. We were impressed by the way they cleaned up after each working day. Furthermore work done was of a high standard and I would have no hesitation in recommending Alan and his team.

This was a large conversion project for us which took 9 weeks to complete and Alan and his team completed it earlier than expected to a good standard. The workmen especially Toby & Andy were a pleasure to have around the place. It was difficult at times as they were working in my home and there was a great deal of disruption, as you would expect, but they all tried their best to keep the disturbance to a minimum and especially made an effort to work around our cats and dogs. The electricians were wonderful lads and we are very happy with the end result. Thank you to Alan and his extensive team.

Took a bit longer than expected because of weather hold ups, scaffolding problems and moving staff to other sites when expecting them to be working here at times, but final product was good. Toby, Dan, Mike, Rob, Paul and Craig were all brilliant

Fantastic service from start to finish....Alans team advised me on the exact time they were to start work and kindly brought carpet protection for our new stairs carpet. We were extremely pleased with all of the work that has been completed which included a new loft ladder, sub floor for the loft, and 5m of boarding in our loft space !!! Cannot recommend him highly enough 100% satisfied with all of the completed works. Many thanks !!!
