These guys were great, the job was more complex than predicted, due to serious and initially hidden bodging by previous owners, but Alan carefully talked this through with me and set out the options, showing me the issues and clearly explaining both what had happened and what needed to be fixed . They were punctual, polite and did things when they said they would, with good grace and humour (even when I asked stupid questions). We are very happy with the job and would be happy to recommend them.

I was quite concerned before we started this job about the stresses of an extension with other things that were happening in my family life. Alan was a star from the beginning, he has always done what he said he would, he has set our minds at rest at each step of the process and kept us informed throughout. The costs were what he said at the beginning unless we negotiated otherwise. The boys on site were fantastic, I have two young children and they were lovely with them as well. The build went really smoothly and I can honestly say they have done a brilliant job, we are thrilled with the final build and it has made a huge difference to our lives. Absolutely fantastic all round.

The first time we met Alan he arrived promptly, and we immediately took a liking to him. We talked through our plans having already sent architectural and structural drawings to him and it was obvious throughout our conversation that he had looked at them in detail prior to our initial meeting. His quote was a fixed price which was comparable with two other quotes we had received, and this is great for peace of mind, knowing that there will be no unexpected costs throughout the project. I must mention Lewis and Mark in person as they were consistently exceptional. They are extremely friendly and helpful, and their work ethic is amazing, nothing was too much trouble. We were particularly impressed with their cleanliness, not only while they worked, but also at the end of each day, minimising the mess and disruption. I would not hesitate in using this team again; in fact, I would not go anywhere else, and I would very highly recommend them.

I had several contractors visit and price my extension project, but Alan was the only one who had clearly ‘done his homework’ and was prepared to provide a ‘Fixed Price Quote’ for the job. The job started when agreed and the guys just kept turning up every day until it was completed, several months later. (They start promptly at 8am and don’t leave until 5pm, and ensure the site is left safe and tidy each evening) I was kept informed of progress and any obstacles etc were soon overcome with options/solutions provided by Alan and the team. I’m delighted with the finished project and have received so many compliments on my new extension. There comes a time with projects like these when, as a householder, you just have to do your research then put your trust (and money) in the hands of your chosen building contractor., I’m so glad that I found Whyte’s Building Contractors and I would recommend., and definitely use., them again in a heartbeat..! Great experience and delighted with the outcome of the project. Alan and his team went over and beyond. Alan kept me up to date regularly and the team were always available to help with any questions. The job quote/build was maintained with no hidden charges. I would recommend them to anyone and I will be back in touch with new projects in the future. Great building experience and glad I chose this company.

Cannot fault the service, the job turned from a small one to a fairly large multi level build as is often the way with these things but Alan and his team delivered on time and in budget. Wish I’d found them sooner for the rest of our house projects!

Alan and Lewis Whyte are very professional and trustworthy. I employed them to reroof and fully renovate my double garage in Torpoint, Cornwall. Whyte's turned up the day they promised and just got on with the works. They organised everything and the job was finished in the time quoted. They came across a couple of issues but they just dealt with them with the minimum of fuss. I can fully recommend them and will not hesitate to use them in the future. Thank you Alan & Lewis.

The reason we choose Whyte's Construction, was from the first time we met Alan and explained out project he was not only able to point out issues we might face but come up with solutions to the problem to make the whole project work. A number of other builders all said the project couldn't be done. Alan recommended an architect and worked with them and myself to draw up the plans. The project started on time in September, and ran smoothly until completion. All of the team were extremely friendly and helpful, their work ethic was amazing and set themselves very high standards. We were particularly impressed with how cleanly they worked, ensuring they cleaned thoroughly before they left each day, minimising the mess and disruption. I would highly recommend them, and will be using them again for our next project.
