Review left on 27 Nov 2017Rating: 5 out of 5Unblock Kitchen sink drain, replace pipe, fit mixer tap
Arrived on time to quote. Set about explaining the processes. We agreed a start the next day. Stephen was good with communicating that he would be a little late. All work completed to a high standard and we are happy with the result. He encountered some difficulties and this took him longer than expected, but fair play to Stephen. He stayed and completed the job without a moan. Would recommendReview from felixt1987, Norbury, London felixt1987, Norbury, London

Review left on 26 Nov 2017Rating: 1 out of 5Bathroom pipe and washer out pipe(Updated on 16 Dec 2017)I hired Steven for a job to fix a leak from the bathroom pipe under a freestanding bath. The initial leak had been contained I the bathroom and he came and suggested putting a new fitting on the pipes to the bath. Steven came and did this job and the washer out pipe. The latter was done well. The former was not. In between him initially working on the pipe and two days later, there was a leak through the ceiling though to my kitchen. Errors happen, I understand this from my day job. If they are fixed and the tradesman shows empathy toward the circumstances then generally I am appeased. But when I phoned and politely indicated that there had been a more serious leak, also enquiringly if he had insurance, Steven’s tone changed. He became aggressive on the phone. A few texts later and the plumber offered to come over to have a look . Later he called to say his son had hit his head and was unable to come over until the next day. Fair enough. Despite messaging him to come over, he did not call to come over the next day (despite claiming later he did) I hired another plumber, he pointed out that there was only 1 localised stop value instead of 2 and that the leak was from under the taps where they screw into the bath. A simple check following the repair confirmed there would be no more leak. I am deeply unhappy about the way this work was handled, the manner in which I was spoken to and the standard of work.Answer from tradesperson:
As stated in feedback "that the leak was from under the taps where they screw into the bath" I was called out to a plastic tap connector that was leaking. I fixed leak and repaired with solid brass fittings. As I was only called out for this and didnt install taps where they connect to bath I didnt feel that it was necessary to check all other plumbing works as we rectified the problem i was called out for. I was not angry, just slightly confused that someone would want to go through my insurance for a leak that was apparant when i arrived. I have now learnt that as well as a leaking tap connector that the bath taps where not sealed or correct washers used when installed by other plumber. This means that when u take a shower and water is sprayed over taps it will seep through gaps causing a leak. This has been a real eye opener as I will now be carrying out a number of other checks to any other works near to where I have made a repair to ensure I do not get into this situation in the future.

Steve was brilliant. He called and then was round within the hour. He identified the problem and then fixed it immediately. This was all very late in the evening but he was so quiet the kids didn’t even wake up. I will have his number on speed dial!
