Michael is tough to get hold of if paid in advance. Unreliable. Will not refund money owed. We have been chasing him to refund part paid (50%) private works since April 2026 of £1125. To date he has made excuses of being so busy to address me properly on the phone and that his mother deals with the accounts yet has not provided any contact details for her. On the very few times he gave me 10 seconds on the phone, he claimed to not be "running away with the money". He claimed to have bought materials which we agreed to be deducted from the final amount to be refunded, however Michael has not provided receipts, a refund, nor the supposed materials bought. I have chased him for this since April to date and have also informed him of our next steps. His quotes are also ridiculously over-priced. We have had to use other contractors since at a fraction of the price and with utmost professionalism and communication. STEER VERY CLEAR - Will be reporting him to Trading Standards.

Michael is super knowledgeable with lots of experience and I felt he was really reliable, easy to communicate with and he was thorough with the job.

The workman did the job , however, wasn't pleasant to deal with, very aggressive manner. Threatening to come round and dismantle the work unless paid straightaway and I hadn't even had a chance to look at it. Aggressive text and harassment within an hour of the work being finished for payment. Gave a quote of £1k and the work ended up being over £2.5k , as soon as he found out it was an insurance job it hiked up. Would not use again.

I can’t recommend this builder highly enough. After a very poor experience with a previous contractor who caused additional damage and failed to fix the original issue, these guys came in and completely turned the situation around. They quickly identified the faults left behind, explained clearly what had gone wrong, and fixed everything properly and professionally. The workmanship was to a very high standard, they were honest about what was required, and they did not try to upsell or exaggerate the scope of works. They were punctual, clean, respectful of the property, and communicated well throughout. Most importantly, the issue was finally resolved properly, which was a huge relief after weeks of stress. If you want a reliable builder who knows what they’re doing and actually takes pride in their work, this is the team to use. I only wish I’d found them first.

Avoid at any cost. Michael and his team are a fraud. Did half the job in the bathroom, we were naive enough to pay in full, and never showed up again to complete the job. He also brought in a person to check out our boiler, who also got paid in full but made things actually worse. Not only he didn't fix the boiler, he also left a radiator leaking after he apparently bled the system. When both were due to come finish the jobs, Michael asked for another full pay for his friend/teammate to stop the leak which we refused. He didn't come back to finish the bathroom too. We hired another professional to identify the problem with the boiler, who changed the faulty expansion vessel and fixed the leak. Once again, don't waste you time and money on these people. Didn't show up twice on the day and time agreed. They live outside of London and do the job half-heartedly. Would not recommend them to anyone. They are a fraud, greedy and very unprofessional both in service and in communication. Avoid!

Michael and his team provided excellent service for a leaking ceiling. They were prompt, professional, and fixed the issue completely while offering great advice along the way. Highly recommended!

I hired SM Maintenance to carry out a track and trace for a leak. According to the quote, three contractors were meant to attend, but only one person actually carried out the work while another sat in the truck. Despite this, I was billed for three contractors. The job itself was not completed properly — the leak is still ongoing, and substandard parts were used that would be more suitable for a basic DIY project rather than a professional repair. These parts are not fit for purpose, especially for use under a bath that is in regular use. The final invoice came to an astronomical £3,650, which was never authorised or agreed upon. When I questioned the amount and requested photos or proof of the work done, the contractor refused to provide them and said they would only be shared after the invoice was paid in full.
