I have an old stone built cottage in North Northumberland which has rising and penetrative damp. Tommy visited the property and recommended applying 'StormDry' on the outer wall. Tommy and his colleague carried out the work to cover the whole of the two story cottage at an arranged date. I would definitely recommend Tommy, he was professional, trustworthy and friendly as well.

I was basically looking for a 2nd opinion about a damp problem; Tommy at Scotia replied very quickly to my initial request and although he ended up not doing the work, as he said that the quote I was given was a good one and he doubted very much if I'd get it any cheaper, I very much appreciated his honesty! I will certainly use him again in the future if the need arises.

Tommy came out promptly to view the property. He understood very quickly my concern with the sub-floor ventilation. He quickly reassured me that I had nothing to worry about and advised that I get in touch with him if any problems arose.

Tommy came out to see me the same day I contacted him and at the time agreed. Tommy is a very knowledgable friendly man who gave me lots of advice. The damp I have is caused by condensation and ventilation which didn’t require Tommy’s expertise to fix. Although Tommy wasn’t required to fix this he contacted me and offered me a dehumidifier for a couple of weeks which he delivered and set up for me. Tommy has gone way beyond what I could have expected considering he isn’t benefiting in any way so I would highly recommend him to everyone. Nice to meet someone who really cares and takes pride in his profession.

Tommy came and tested for damp in my newly purchased home in Angus and to quote for painting some rooms. He came equipped not only with his own damp meter but also had one for me to do my own check as we walked around. He explained what the meter readings meant, and as it turned out the findings showed there was no damp. I initially booked him to do the painting work for 4 weeks time ( the earliest he would be available due to other work he was already committed to. ) On reflection later I decided I would have to get the painting done sooner, however I hope to book him to do other work for me early next year. Meantime based on the contact I had with Tommy I can testify to his professionalism, good communication, and turning up at the agreed time.

After using Tommy of Scotia last year we did not hesitate in hiring him again for a second time to complete foundation support work on our Cottage. His standard of knowledge, workmanship and finish is very high and the work was reasonably priced. Regardless of weather conditions, they turned up on time and then decided if it was safe to work. The lads are hard working, courteous and have a good sense of humour. This combination of pleasantness and professionalism means I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Tommy was very efficient, always turned up when he said he would, job was completed on time and I got regular updates about the progress. It was cheaper than my other quotes and completed to a high standard. I was also pleased that Tommy investigated the issue and explained the work that was going to be done. I would use him again.
