Aldo came round and looked at the job before sending a written quote which we accepted. We arranged a time for the work (2 days) which I double checked about a week before. He didn't turn up on the day and then texted that evening to say he couldn't come the next day because of the rain (I'm sure you can demolish a wall in the rain). He arranged to come round to collect a key so he could do the work while I was at work but failed to show up and when I phoned admitted that he hadn't done our job as he was double booked. I then emailed to try and arrange another time for the work and received no reply. I'm sure his work is good, but the rudeness of repeatedly failing to turn up is unacceptable. A great shame.

Aldo did a great job on my fireplace. He stripped back all the plaster, scraped out the mortar, cleaned and repointed. It looks fantastic and is a great feature in the room. He repaired some of the brickwork as it is over 120 years old and it perfectly blends in. Very pleased with the work and would highly recommend Polo Restorations. Aldo is a craftsman who clearly takes great pride in his work. Thanks again!

I am very reluctant to leave negative feedback, but having done lots of building work on three houses over the last 13 years, and never experienced anything like it, I have to warn others about dealing with this tradesman. It all started out fine, although the fact that he got very nervous and defensive when I asked for references we could have a look at should have warned me. We hired him mainly based on the positive feedback on this site and the pure work result in the end is fine. Not outstanding, but fine. However, the process of getting there was extremely frustrating and nervewrecking. Aldo has a very fragile ego, you have to be very careful how to adress any issues with his work. He was in a rush to finish the job as quickly as possible, having started another one elsewhere. He tried to cut out one third of the job, because he had "forgotten" that he had quoted for it. Things we had agreed several times were suddenly "impossible", only to be done half an hour later, after his employee had talked some sense into him. He tends to blame the client for everything and has a major attitude problem with women, so if you are female, beware. I could smell alcohol during the day on various occasions and found empty bottles in my bin. All in all, there are surely more professional builders out there, unfortunately we cannot recommend him.

Aldo the re-pointing job very well, kept the place tidy and was a nice friendly guy.

Aldo and his team worked well and the finished result looks fantastic. As with any project there were some challenges and Aldo personally ensured that these were resolved. Good job!

arrived on time and did a good job

We hired Aldo and he was very professional throughout. When we encountered some initial teething problems he took care of the problem quickly with no extra hassle for us. The house is looking beautiful now and we have had people come up to our front door and asked us to get the number etc. I have already recommended him to several of my friends. Also the little bits that were not done back then (there was one bit of the house that was inaccessible for a long while) Aldo came back and took care of it without me even having to call him or remind him. Absolute top work. Would highly recommend.

We ended up hiring Aldo to re-point the entire front of our house using tradition lime mortar. He did a great job and the house is now admired by many people in the street. He's a a real craftsman and a nice guy too.

Aldo was easy to work with. He started on time. completed the work in a timely manner, and did what he said he would. The work appears of a very good standard. I would hire him again.
