We have had a hugely regretful experience hiring Aldo, and we would not want others to experience the same. The job ended with Aldo having to be asked to leave the property as he swore repeatedly and shouted abuse for a prolonged period.
Having read some of his negative feedback, we took a gamble in hiring Aldo to complete a full pebbledash removal, repair and repointing job on our Victorian terrace. We spoke at length regarding what he would be doing to ensure this was completed to the high specification we required.
Aldo estimated the job would take at longest two weeks. Two weeks after he had started the job, he had not completed more than 30% of the job. Our masonry has been damaged and chipped from chiselling of the paint rather than stripping and our brickwork has been smeared with a poorly coloured mortar to leave a rough plain coloured finish. When we asked about this, Aldo smeared some black stain on to parts of the brick to make it look "like the original bricks". When it was queried why he had not stuck to the agreement that he would replace damaged bricks and sand down to a smooth finish on the original bricks, Aldo quickly lost his temper and started shouting about it not being possible to do this job at the agreed price, despite readily agreeing at the time of hiring. He filled my builder's skip with waste despite quoting to remove it, and was found to be drinking on the job.
