    Remodelling fireplace
Great job by Paul. Broke out a large plinth and stone arch, then opened out fireplace, rebuilt stone wall at the back, fitted hearth, chimney liner and woodburner. Impressed with the quality of his work as well as his punctuality and attention to detail.

Re-lining chimney (open fire - not wood burner)
Great job. Got our open fire back after 2 years missing it. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend PGN. Very friendly, trustworthy and professional. 🙂

    Log burner installation
Absolutely thrilled with my log burner installed by PGN Heating!!! Paul and his team are phenomenally professional right down to the smallest detail. From the quote all the way through to the installation Paul has provided sound advice, it's been so refreshing to find a guy who actually looks after his customer. I cant recommend Paul enough, I shall certainly be passing his details on to all of my friends and family! Thanks again Paul, fantastic job!

Install a woodburner/multi fuel stove in my lounge
PGN's initial quote was calculated around quite a restricted budget. Paul was there when he said he would be. Advice was good (on suitable stoves/hearth material). Communication by Paul was good, too, both before (including advice on suitable stoves/a full written quote, and to clear the room as much as possible before the job began), and after (promptly supplying the final invoice). Paul, Johnny and Kieran worked hard to finish the job in one day. Now the rubble and bricks have been taken away (Paul had already said, PGN would not be doing this) the surround just needs plastering. We're pleased with the work PGN did, and would recommend Paul.

    Install 6 inch flue liner
Paul did an absolutely fantastic job of fitting a new multi fuel stove and lining into out 100+ year old chimney. He had unbelievable patience in clearing the very badly blocked chimney and convincing the liner to pass the craggy insides. He was really friendly and professional throughout and left the place lovely and clean. We would not hesitate to recommend P G N Heating Solutions to anyone.

    Checkout open fireplace
I wanted a professional to install my fireplace to obtain the HETAS certificate hence why PGN were chosen. After job completion I rang for my certificate but because my flue did not need lining I did not get a certificate. I was advised I could not have the ‘open’ fireplace that I wanted so the original black cast one went back in but with a bigger grate area. Disappointed when finishes as it’s only about 1” deeper. Have been left with a gap between the top of fireplace and the wall. Slate hearth inserted at an angle not in line with the surround. Paid in full when job finished, was hard to notice at the time as builders were in and room full of rubble. Surround now needs pulling out, setting into the wall slightly at both ends and the hearth making straight. Contacted Paul who says it was because the wall is so bad and nothing can be done? The fireplace has been in good working order and flat to the wall for the past 65years that we have been using it. Paul is a likeable chap and worked well but I am not happy with finished job.

    Answer from tradesperson:

    1. Sorry but you don’t issue a certificate for screwing a surround on to a wall and fitting a hearth we just fitted it to Hetas standards 2. You couldn’t have the open fire you wanted as your chimney was in the corner of the room and your original opening is shaped like a triangle and no room for a basket as you would not be able to get the basket far enough back for the fumes to stay in the chimney hence that’s why u can’t just shove a basket in an opening you would of smoked yourself out 3. There is no way there is a 1inch gap at the top of that surround as I sunk the surround in the wall be cause your wall is 4inches out from the bottom left side to the top right side of your cast like I showed you 4. The hearth is not twisted it’s back to the brick on both sides as is every hearth I fit it looks like an angle as it’s in the corner of a room and your walls are out badly 5. You checked the job very carefully when I was there on completion with no rubble anywhere in sight as I keep my work area clean and left the job cleaner than it was when I arrived as you just had kitchen fitted and I had to move all there stuff 6. You haven’t rang me to discuss any off these issues even after I went through it all with you on completion I have received one text 7. I had a bad attitude/vibe of you as soon as I arrived at your house with your cast I refurbed and slate hearth I think your being very unfair with no phone call

    Stove Installation
Paul was completely reliable and professional. He was hardworking and gave sound advice based on his experience of woodburning stoves and fireplaces. He opened up a sealed opening in an old limestone wall, fitted a liner, a new hearth, woodburner and limestone surround. Works brilliant and looks great. I would have no hesitation in recommending Paul.
