During the work itself, and whilst the job took more than half a day more than he had planned, he committed to the agreed costs and delivered a professional service and kept me up to date with progress (I left him with a key to my house - my own mother doesn't get that). Review left on 7 Nov 2017Rating: 5 out of 5Laminate floor installationJust a few areas that could have been better - some of the nails in the beading are not fully hammered in and the boards in the hallway do not meet the threshold fully, some gaps there. Also I had asked for two doors to be planed but did not bring the tools to do this so we will have to hire someone else to come do them. ( beading around skirting & architrave had to be removed and re done ), didn’t fit a door bar as advertised, filled gaps with white silicone on a brown floor! Didn’t want a cheap job, wanted the job done right, he offered to return after I’d rang & sent the pictures to him that I wasn’t happy with, the job should be right in the first place, therefore I didn’t trust him to do a good job. He has good reviews on here!! Don’t know if he just left my job a mess but I certainly wouldn’t recommend him or use him again .Answer from tradesperson:
firstly I advertise fitting door bars which I do if they are supplied, I offered to go back to sort out anything she weren't happy with but my offer was turned down, finishing touches depend on what your working to and the only place that was not right was the hall as the skirting was loose and uneven and boxed in piping was all over the place, as for the white filler, it fills in the 3mm expansion gap and blends in as part of door frames and is not noticeable, which all of my customers have been totally happy with. unless they request under cutting. I don't agree with leaving customers unhappy and have tried to sort this out.
