    assess need for damp proofing
Although not the cheapest quote I receied was by far the most professional and informative. Mike and the other 2 men arrived on time and completed work as per quote. Day 1 the old plaster was removed and dpc cream applied and rendered. At the time of removing the plaster Mike discoveered that the chimney was leaking - instead of boarding over and hiding the problem he told me about the problem enabling me to remedy before new plaster was applied. Day 2, the render had dried and so was able to be skimmed. A vent was fitted to prevent any condensation. Mike also fitted a vent to a walk in wardrobe and treated mold caused by condensation and painted with mold prevention paint. I was extremely pleased with all the work carried out by Mike and his team and would highly recommend to any future customers.

    damp proofing

Very dissapointed asked for a damp proof course got patches of render applied to my wall and about thirty pounds worth of DPC cream, we done all the hard work as we removed all the skirting as we did not want our floor damaged, also we had areas were plaster needed knocking off as it was to the floor, this was not done. Basically they arrived with a trailer and no proper equipment, dropped the youngest of 3 off and off the other two went to wickes to buy whatever they bought, they didnt even arrive with dust sheets this is one of the things they bought from wickes, but by the time they got back my furniture was already covered in dust bad bad bad....Then we were told instead of 3 days work it was to only be two days, so I called Mike if thats his name and asked what was going on, and was he plastering all my walls and basically he said NO. so we told him not to come back. These are not damp proofers.....

    Answer from tradesperson:

Quote given stated which walls to render/Inject were done. Furniture covered before work started but dust is inevitable.Tools- drills, mixer, dust sheets, materials- no more needed. Trailer is cheaper than skip.Wickes-more cement. You phoned to ask ref plastering and i advised where rendering was done, you would not accept that plaster would blend in and wanted all walls skimming completely... abruptly/rudely told dont come back, never given chance to discuss price/options. Will accept criticism/negative feedback if job was completed and you were not happy but never given chance, still at least the damp proofing is done... Damp proofers.. yes we are see other feedback

    New damp proof course required.

Michael provided excellent communication. He did a thorough job and when additional problems were discovered dealt with those efficiently at minimum cost. Provided a long guarantee for the work done. He rectified an oversight immediately. Price quoted was very competitive. Would recommend this company.

    Install dpc in chimney breast
Michael did an excellent job stepping in at short notice after I was let down by another tradesman hire through MyBuilder failing to show. The job was carried out in accordance with the agreed specification and within the agreed timescale. The skim finish on the replastered living room wall was good but not perfect although it must be said that Mike did do an excellent job of blending new plaster into old in the kitchen to limit the extent of skimming required. The house was left exceptionally clean and tidy at the end of each day and at the end of the job as a whole. There was a minor issue with a leaking radiator valve after reinstatement but I was able to rectify this without too much bother. After the works were completed it became apparent that I still had some residual damp issues although it has since become apparent that this was due to penetrating damp from a small hole in the roof and a poorly maintained chimney stack. Mike was very helpful and took the time to revisit my property and ensure that this was not down to poor workmanship on his part (which, just to be clear, was not the case). Mike has also provided me with some very useful advice on how to decorate over the new plaster. Mike is a knowledgeable and helpful tradesman and is one that I would be happy to recommend to others.

    DPC Course

Problem with damp and mould in house - Mike arrived and confirmed the mould was not due to damp but instead was down to the lack of ventilation. He advised strategically placing Ultrovent vents throughout the property so as to create a moderate that which would allow the moisture to exit the property. Granted the job Mike and his team arrived as expected were left to get on with fitting a number of vents, as well as treating the original mould with chemicals so as to kill off the fungi. It's early days yet but what I can say is that Mike and the team arrived when stated, they carried out all the works they had promised to carry out, and adapted to the needs of the job accordingly, and thus to my advantage reducing the invoice amount. They were professional, worked well and cleaned up the best they could. Mike also said if there were any continued problems I should simply contact him and he would return to sort the problems out! Can't say fairer than that now, can you?

Damp in a concrete cellar floor and adjacent wall

Michael and his team did an excellent job in damp proofing the area under my bungalow. He was reliable, and I found his work to be thorough. His price was competitive. I recommend Damp & Mould Cure Services with hesitation.
