ContactedCharlie through this website he was prompt polite and friendly he carried out a survey of our roof and chimney advised that no work was required that the building had just settled and would get back to me in 6 months time to check that all was still ok he would not take a fee for the call out would certainly recommend him and his colleague

Charlie was great, he explained exactly what was wrong. He checked my roof and gave me a great quote. Charlie then carried out the work a few days after to which he kept me fully informed and was very professional at all times. If you are looking for a roofer I would certainly recommend Charlie and 1st Base.

Ist Base- Ist class! The work has been carried out to the highest standards and with the best quote. My neighbour's son is an architect and checked the work afterwards and was impressed. (the chimney was a joint one). As well as removing the chimney, Charlie carried out some extra work not in the remit at no additional expense and has given us a 10 year guarantee. He started when he said he would and completed on time keeping us well informed at all times. His workers were polite and everything was left as tidy as before after the work. Highly recommended. Charlie and his team have done a fantastic job with the roof and the wood burning stove. The work has not only been carried out to the highest standards but also cleanly and safely with the highest regard to mine and my neighbours convenience. Not only a great tradesman, Charlie is quite frankly one of the nicest people we have ever had the pleasure to meet and have already begun recommending him to our friends for similar jobs. Superb!

Charlie carried out the work to what I thought was a high standard, he also said he would repair a leaking chimney and now refuses to contact me. I have since had other roofers at my property who have taken pictures of shoddy workmanship, how can I have a 10 year warranty when I cannot get a hold of the man? Good price and friendly but cuts corners and doesn't get back to you once you've paid.

Charlie gave us a very detailed quote and kept us informed as the job progressed. We have had some heavy rain since completion and no leaks! Charlie has also given us a 10 year guarantee-the first roofer we've used to do so.

Charlie was great he came out to quote me for a flat roof i needed replaced, He checked my roof and gave me a great quote to what i was being quoted elsewhere. Charlie then proceeding the work a few days after to which he kept me fully informed and was very professional at all times - He even threw in painting the fascias at the front and back of the house for free. Charlie has been an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. The quote I was given for chimney, roofing, guttering was amazing (my neighbours couldn't believe it!). The work was carried out on time & completed in full and I am extremely happy with the quality of the work. Both Charlie & Thomas are lovely people who go out of their way to be helpful, they keep the site tidy & work very hard. Both are an absolute pleasure to have around & I can't recommend them highly enough. Can't wait for Charlie & Thomas to come back & start work on the next phase of my project. If you want reliable, honest, hardworking & helpful tradesmen then 1st Base is your best bet!

Cant rate Charlie highly enough, a genuine tradesman who you know is not ripping you off. After getting Charlie to replace a dozen tiles on roof we got him to quote for new guttering around the house as the old cast iron gutters had seen better days. I got three quotes and Charlie was again the cheapest even to our delight he replaced all facias and softfits around house for less than what the other two companies had quoted for just the guttering. The new white pvc facias looks great and we are really satisfied with his work. Neighbours have even commented on how good it looks. Ive kept charlies number and card cause i know ill be phoning him again if i need my roof done. Job well done Charlie even the wife did not moan about anything and thats a good sign. Ha Ha
