Restoration & Refurbishment- 17 May 2018
Keith Gary and Dan have done a wonderful job on my house starting with the roof and refitting including most walls. They have listened to what I wanted and carried out the recommendations from the lime company which has increased the insulation incredibly. The job was challenging due to lack of parking and access but they have worked amazingly hard to finish on time and on budget. Where possible Keith has salvaged and adapted existing fixtures and given lots of guidance and expert advice on decisions about what was practical and expedient . The volume of work was enormous due to the completely run down state of the property but it is now barely recognisable as a beautiful dwelling conserving as much of the original as possible. All the work has been to the highest standard and skill and structural reinforcement and repairs done wherever necessary. The existing heating system has been adapted and conserved where possible , again keeping the costs within budget, and the new kitchen and bathroom installed .Keith communicated with me at all necessary junctures and never seemed irked by daft questions or having to explain things more than once .He has made a lovely slate plinth for the kitchen woodburner and everywhere you look are examples of problem solving . So I am well happy with all the work and feel that I was very fortunate to have such skilled builders who never lost their sense of humour when things were very challenging with the weather and working conditions.

I have worked alongside many experienced builders in that time and developed sound hands on experience leading to the development of my own business. I have gained all the skills and experience needed for a complete build from preparing and pouring concrete foundations, brick/block laying, installing premade roof trusses, felt and battening to laying the slate/tiles, 1st fix stud walls dot and dap plaster boarding, skimming, rendering, and landscaping. I have worked on small projects such as extensions right through to large mass house builds working alongside project managers. I pride myself in working in partnership with my customers to achieve their wishes whilst being open and honest about the project length and costs so there are no surprises or hidden costs on completion. Will came and looked at the job, we talked, some banter, my wife and I felt comfortable with him and bearing in mind Sam my wife would be in and around whilst I at work that was very important…a good start. We had the quote, happy with the cost and the plans after my very poor landscaping drawing and a date was penned in. 8am Will and able teammate Kev arrived to start the excavating to take out the grass and make good ahead of building brick circles to be surrounded with blue slate clippings and artificial grass in the centre of the circles plus extending the patio. 10 days or so later including working the bank holiday we have a lovely garden to be proud of. Both Will, Kev and digger driver John were polite, courteous and respectful of the property and in our opinion have done a cracking job… Needs arise in the future, only one phone call to be made in my opinion…top job guys

Carlo Chandler of NC Construction was extremely helpful and professional. He did an amazing job on sorting out where the water was ingressing through the cracks in the rendered wall above the roof of the utility room. He adhered to the work schedule even when he discovered that it would be almost impossible to render the wall as when they cut into it, they discovered there were no bricks behind the concrete (the concrete was attached to wire). He sorted out the supplies for the wall to be cladded and did the job despite the bad weather with Storm Arwin. He also repointed the chimney in terrible conditions! I would highly recommend NC Construction to anyone! They did such a professional job and fixed the roof that had been leaking for 10 to 15 years!
