Get in touchJosh and Team provided building services for the remodeling & extension of my house from July 2017 for 7 months. For this work Josh and team's skills included: blockwork walling with a curved wall and archway, cement rendering & internal skim and parge coating with trims, GRP roofing work including trims & rainwater, internal studwork, structural timber and erecting a steelwork, roof and wall cladding in board and cedar, installing doors and windows, digging out and casting new slabs and footings with rebar, pinning & propping walls and careful demolition, installing below ground drains & manholes and laying pavers. As an architect I am used to working with and instructing builders so I managed the other trades and had separate carpenters/ joiners & M & E trades. I really enjoyed working with JB and team on this project. JB worked to an hourly rate which included their plant and some fixings with both JB and I procuring building materials & organizing the scaffolding & waste & recycling. I found JB and his team to be honest, courteous, good with time and charging, hardworking and they had a positive go-to and hands on attitude even in bad weather. - Get in touchAdams workmanship was great - we had a full ensuite shower room installed with all walls needing erecting, plumbing, electrics, tiling and install work. Adam undertook either the work or the organisation of other relevant trades to make sure the job was complete to a high standard. He kept us informed throughout the process with regular updates and made sure we were all in agreement before any changes were made. This also meant that the final price came in with no surprises. Get in touchWith my appointment of MBS Ltd to build my loft conversion began the unfolding of a real-life nightmare! The problems were fundamental, viz. • The managing director, Stefan Browning would have been unsuited to managing a cake-stall, let alone a building project. He lacked the necessary integrity and competency to produce a satisfactory job. His unorthodox 'Modus Operandi' meant a continual pattern of inconsistencies and 'moving of the goal-posts' and it wasn't possible to have any faith in his ability to do the job. • Where he ought to have summoned Building Control at various stages to check on his progress, he didn’t do so – and not even once! This meant that when I eventually called Building Control, the structure had already been covered and was no longer viewable. Building Control then listed a whole host of shortcomings, many of which will now be very costly to rectify. • MBS decided to install their own design of the floor but without any approved drawings to work from, so they were ‘flying blind’. The resulting floor was then unsuitable for an habitable room. When we produced remedial drawings, MBS refused to do any further work without being paid extra – even though I’d paid them in advance! • Stefan Browning’s mindset was of sheer high-handed arrogance throughout; he simply couldn’t admit to (or learn from!) any of his own mistakes nor take responsibility for them. • In short, he destroyed our dream and he shouldn’t be in business – any business at all!Latest review:Loft Conversion-
