In all the years of owning a house we're had all sorts of builders in to do jobs, ranging from fast-talking, fly by night cowboys to smooth talking, uber-expensive charlatans out to relieve us of our hard earned money. Terry and the Starling Construction Team are none of these things. Firstly, his communication is brilliant and he will always answer a call or text, or if not, he will call you back as soon as possible. It's a rare treat to even get a call from a builder these days bur Terry is really responsive and helpful. Secondly, he is a man of his word and if he says something will happen, it will happen. I've genuinely been over the moon with the quality of Terry's work and his motto is "If I won't have it in my house, it won't be in yours" and that's 100% true as witnessed by me. I've been doing this for almost 10 years, I've got a City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ and diploma in carpentry and joinery. I've worked my up from an apprentice learning all sorts of skills, including non-carpentry related on my up way. This has been great, because I can now offer almost all building, carpentry, roofing work, in a domestic environment.

I have worked alongside my father my whole carpentry career and did my apprenticeship with him and we still build lofts together. In my 17 years as a carpenter I have been building loft conversions for 15 of them and started trading with my company late 2018.

Get in touchAfter quoting for a single storey side extension / single garage we ended up having at alter the plans to just replacing the roof of an old coal shed / brick shed with corragated roof. These plans then developed into adding a roof over the alley between the house and the small out brick shed. Luke and Jerry did a fantastic job. They've got a great attitude to work (and life in general!) Despite several snags along the way (weather, materials etc) they were resilient and got the job done to a fantastic standard. Luke stayed in touch during exceptionally poor weather to ensure we were happy with the work and had no snagging issues. I've since asked them to return for some other work and look forward to trusting them again. This involved propping a masonry wall above, manoeuvring the new steel into place and fixing it into position. They did a brilliant job! They worked incredibly hard in the really hot weather.
