The job was a full interior strip out across 5 floors of a listed building, as well as the client still occupying the basement and requiring some rooms / server room to remain live through-out the project. The site was in central Edinburgh which meant many constraints on space and no ability to have a skip on site. All waste had to be meticulously placed in certain rooms and then placed in wait and load skips several times a week. John and his men had to ensure some portions of the demolition to be done methodically as lots of areas in the building were listed therefore could not be damaged in any way while we had to bring down internal walls and open up floors and cut/chase into walls to strip out and re-instate services. John was always able to increase labour when requested, he had a supervisor on site to ensure the labourers always knew what had to be taken down or left due to the nature of the job and the demolition having to be done carefully through-out the project.

When Duncan visited to give us a quote we were impressed how he caught on to what we required. He was really keen to do a good job for us. He had to work around the constraints of the already existing kitchen units and not to mention the dishwasher! He sourced a good match of cupboards, plinths, and infills and also built a slim shelf unit next to the dishwasher. He was good natured and discussed at crucial stages what the options were before carrying on with the job. We can’t fault his attention to detail and skill. He was punctual and cleaned up before leaving. You would never have known he was there except for the excellent result he gave us.

Needed some bespoke pieces of living room furniture/cabinets made. Its fair to say we are very, very happy with the end result. We had a overlying idea of what we wanted but Jim's professionalism was able to apply the little bits/advice to the designs that made the difference. The workmanship and attention to detail you cannot fault, the efforts to source the right materials and finishing ensured the final work looked great. Jim was always around or on the phone when we needed to speak to him, and when the team arrived to fit all were very knowledgeable, respectful and wanted to ensure a good job was completed. Inviting somebody new to make some major changes into your home is a big step, but I have a big belief that when I employ somebody it is through trust and ability, and I am glad to say all our beliefs and instincts were 110% correct. I would not hesitate to ask Jim and his Finesse team to do other works for me, along with his wider network of trade contacts, they would be welcomed back with a knowledge and certainty that a cracking and professional job would be done. There are a lot of decent companies & skilled individuals in the industry, but you wouldn't do yourself any harm in contacting Finesse Joinery if you need any works doing. Highly Recommended from myself & my wife.....

Highly recommend Jamie and his team. We used them for our kitchen renovation which included a lot of prep work, new plumbing, electrics redone, insulation added and installation of the new kitchen. Jamie and his team were so friendly, tidy and efficient throughout the whole process. Jamie’s communication is great, he always kept me updated with the project and time frames. Scott and Nico did a lot of the prep, installation and building of the new kitchen. I found that they were so knowledgeable and helpful throughout this process. We’re very happy with the standard of work and overall found the whole process to be very seamless. I have another project I’ll be looking to get Jamie and his team in for the future too.
