He first arrived late (7:30pm instead of 5pm) and was still using his power tools gone 10pm. The frame he built round the cupboard looked okayish so i paid him but when i tried to attach the doors they didn't fit. I asked him to come back and fix it and his answer was that the doors needed to be changed (even though they are Ikea doors made for the Ikea Pax frame). Said he'd need another £70 and then after eventually agreeing to do it for no extra charge said he'd only come back if i picked him up and gave him a lift to the station!! He ignored my next few messages so i gave up trying after that as I wasn't that keen of having him back in my house anyway. If i've asked someone to build a frame around an Ikea cupboard I don't think i should have to explicitly say that i want to be able to fit doors! I was happy to attach them myself, hence why i didn't ask him to, but they were there in big boxes (that he actually moved at one point) so it's not like he wouldn't have known i was going to be adding doors. I'd think he might think to check when deciding how to fit the frame and at the very least he could have asked. I'd suggest avoiding him at all costs. I had to ask Mybuilder to allow me to resubmit my comment as i wanted to give more detail. My first comment was very short as i don't think there's much point in slagging people off but his reply was offensive and Mybuilder had to warn him. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID unless you want to pay someone else afterwards!!!

Scott abandoned the work in the middle of winter after collecting several thousands of £££ in advance without completing or making safe (see attached photos). Due to poor quality of even the seemingly completed works (e.g inappropriate roof pitch/tiles/truss, improperly installed doors/windows & rising damp on internal plaster boards) the work was rejected by building control and I've had to pay another contractor again to remediate. Scott started the work on 15 Sept 2025 but abandoned site at the end of Feb 2026 with doors/windows/radiators only partially installed. Scott had originally committed to a 12 week build for completion before Christmas 2025 but the work dragged till end of Feb 2026 when the work was eventually abandoned. I have decided to take the matter to court after several unsuccessful attempts to get Scott back to finish the work or refund the cost of repairing / completing his work which is about £20k in addition to the roughly £70k I have already paid Scott.

I've wanted to replace the damaged worktops in my kitchen for some time but it has proved quite difficult to find someone to do the work because the units are not standard sized. None of this phased Den. He is a real craftsman and did a great job for a very fair price.

The best of the best!! Thats how I would describe Fresh Look Builders! From the offset Brett called and advised the best course of action in what I would describe as a nightmare job and I never even met him. He quoted me after viewing the job and I was pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive his quote was. Brett liased with my tenants and organised everything from rental of temporary equipment I needed to clearing up the mess afterwards. I had absolutely no fuss, no stress or hassle and the job was completed around my tenants. I was kept informed daily of the progress that was being made. Brett is polite, friendly, realistic and extremely reasonable. I have absolutely no doubt I will be calling on him again in the future. Every tradesman should be like this!
