There was a bit of miscommunication/misunderstanding on the full scope but adapted quickly and gave up his bank holiday Monday to return to complete the job. Materials were provided by a previous roofer who didn’t finish the job but Steve was happy to make it work. The job took slightly longer than expected but this was mainly due to weather and unforeseen issues. Review left on 9 Sep 2025Rating: 1 out of 5Replace polycarbonate roof with tiled roof and insulated ceiling(Updated on 20 Nov 2025)Supposed to put up a flat roof and then an insulated ceiling underneath. Did the roof, then asked for the money to buy supplies for the rest of the job. In a moment of madness I paid the full amount, and never saw him again. Won't return calls or messages. Addendum to Steve's reply: Yes, the quote only mentioned the roof so I checked in a reply if "roof" included the ceiling. See screenshot. Yes, my mistake making a full payment before the job was finished as he made it sound like he was desperate to buy supplies.Answer from tradesperson:
Hi Paul, I'm really unsure to this review. Your making me out to be a thief, which I'm not. Yes, I do Roofing and Plastering. However, as there both separate trades, I do separate quotes for each, as to which I did explain to you!!! I completed the flat roof as per quote. I asked for payment as the roof that was quoted for was completed. You say madness, you said the full ammount????? You paid the full amount for the roof completion!!!! You never paid anythong towards the plastering quote as i didnt start that !!! Im confused to why you say its madness???? The roof quote was completed, to which you have to pay!!! Unfortunately due to the van failure and family circumstances, I could not get to you at this time to start on the plastering side. I will attach pictures of the quotes and of the finalised roof. If you think this work is a 1 star then I really do apologise for this.

We required some assistance shortly after the job was completed since the latest works caused some new leaks. Reached out to Steve on April 11, Steve was on holiday until April 28, he mentioned he will "pop over" after he's back, it's May 14 and I haven't heard back.Answer from tradesperson:
Hi, I'm unsure of why this review has been left. You messaged me asking about a pipe. That when I completed the job back in November 2024, you looked at the flat roof and was completely happy with. I mentioned I was away for 2 weeks in april and you said you would get someone else out as you couldn't wait the 2 weeks until I'm back. Hence not getting back to you as you said you were getting someone else. As I never heard back from you, I assumed that you got someone else as that's what you mentioned!!!! I'm really confused with this review, if you would like me to come back, you have my number, contact me and I will arrange to come over!!!!
