I am so late with this feedback as I thought I had already submitted it. My mistake. Anyway, I asked Fred to repair my leaking kitchen extension roof and he came round with two young guys, who were under his direction. After they had done their work, the roof continued leaking, but in a different place. After sending him numerous messages over a period of four months, Fred finally sent someone to fix the leak. He was only on the roof for about 30 minutes and when I asked why he was going so soon, he said, “I don’t mess about”, adding that he needed to go to a training session, and, “I’ll bet my mortgage that this will be OK now.” The roof continued to leak.
Fred had given me a two-year written guarantee and so I contacted him through this web site explaining the situation and saying that I wanted a proper repair or my money refunded. I did this twice but received no reply. I was so sick of all this that I decided to get someone else to come and fix it and they did an excellent, professional job. But Fred’s work was completely useless, he failed to honour his guarantee, and he has wasted both my time and money.
As a footnote, two other households in my terrace have hired Fred over the past couple of years or so, and both have either had to get him to come back and re-do the work or get someone else in to do the job properly.
