We needed a supporting wall removed and RSJ’s in place of it and various other bits done. Felipe advertises a design and build service and that’s what we got. . .sort of. The architecture work was professional. The building work however was disastrous and was 2 months late! Both Felipe’s builder Dom Glowski was working on 3 concurrent projects, meaning my house was neglected for long periods.
They both also claimed to have got building control to sign off but once I called the private building control company they had arranged to get my report, the company had no idea what I was talking about. Shambles and lies.
WORSE was to come. 2 years down the line, my walls started cracking (about 20 cracks through the top floor - big ones). I suspected it wasn’t just settling cracks. Surveyors came over, they made me remove the ground floor ceilings to see the works and it turns out that Dom Glowski (the builder) had taken many shortcuts; he hadn’t put drymix between the upper beams and the wall above where the supporting wall was + he had put a tiny padstone (half the width of the beam) underneath one of the beams. Result of this horrendous workmanship: our upstairs floors have started sinking, the walls cracking and the small-ish beam has bent. I clearly would not recommend their outfit.
