Rating: 4.8 out of 5 4.8544 reviewsGet in touchDavid served me most critically, despite his being sick at the time with flu-like symptoms, taking advantage of rare clement weather to correctly diagnose the problem of my 'gutter leak': guttering, both front and back, had too shallow a fall for a 10 metre run. Thus, the gradient had to be reassessed objectively, the end-stops raised and truncated downpipes lowered to create the necessary maxima and minima, and the seals on the joints made good. Like many properties in Deiniolen, mine has External Wall Insulation (Soltherm). Thus, replacing the downpipe brackets in the front, which had worked loose, needed a specialised tool for boring the spiral anchors into the wall. Not being in the trade, I could not acquire the tool, so David had to fix the anchors manually -- just as I had to, with the two lower brackets, assayed last year. Getting them in straight, first time, proved to be a steep learning curve - for both of us. But, three new brackets and six new spiral anchors later, we were both satisfied with the result, though David practically got writer's cramp from doing it! The price was reasonable, since David had to pay for an apprentice to foot the ladder, etc., while a less experience contractor would have needed scaffolding at that height. Consistent with his great affability and charm, he even spotted a slipped slate on the porch roof and stuck it down gratis. He has a good eye for detail.
