Adam Favor and NOVA Design & Build are a nice bunch of guys and they are reliable/helpful. However, when it came to coving, architrave and flooring, acceptable standards were unfortunately not met. Other specialists had to be brought in to re-do around 20% of the job; namely certain sections of the cornice and door architrave. In the former, a few things were below standard including: 1) not joining the friezes in the correct places, 2) cutting inaccurately, 3) leaving gaps, 4) using silicon as a filler and adhesive. For the door architrave, the wood was misaligned and not glued/nailed properly. The flooring was not laid well because there are huge gaps at times; sometimes at 1 cm. Since the kitchen has been installed, it is too late to take up the floorboards again. The most dubious thing of all in this job was the quote received for decorating which was c. 15k for 47 m2. This included plastering repairs, but ultimately the job got done by someone else to a high standard at 7k.

Malcolm and his team did great work on my house. The job consisted of full house redecoration, building bespoke shelving and built in wardrobes, loft boarding and installing ladder, replacing fencing and general pruning in the garden. They were able to turn their hands to all manner of jobs. Malcolm had a full team onsite every day and they finished the work ahead of schedule. At all times Malcolm was very responsive and worked hard to ensure that any changes along the way were accommodated. We couldn’t be happier with the professionalism and quality of workmanship from REA Construction. The project was delivered within budget and on time. We lived in the property during the work and we, our neighbours and the site were always treated with the utmost consideration. There were almost no hitches and, when they did occur, they were dealt with immediately and thoroughly. Our project team, led by Kristjan and Besi, were universally hardworking, organised and produced work to an excellent standard. Communication is great, the people are wonderful. Renato was someone I felt I could trust from the moment I met him and he never let us down. He and everyone at REA genuinely care about what they do and that their customers have a happy experience. We had a one bedroom lower ground floor garden flat and did a side return and extension into the garden. The flat is in West Kensington area. We also did a full internal refurbishment and moved just about every wall, moved boiler, new Porcellanosa bathroom, new kitchen, new flooring throughout, a large bi-fold door in the living room to the garden. Chris and RAS Construction have been the best possible builders for this project. They were simply amazing. What we loved most about them: - speedy and no-nonsense communication (very important for us) - friendly and approachable - super professional and friendly team - very quick and helpful when a problem arose due to some architect's error - good aftercare - stayed in quoted budget - offered improvements and reasonable quotes - very easy to work with - only asked for partial payment every few weeks after job had moved along reflecting the amount charged This review was written about 8 months after the project was completed and we are still very happy with the quality. I would not hesitate to recommend Chris and his team at anytime. You hear so much about bad builders, we have been very lucky that we have found him. We are now house hunting for a bigger place and will re-engage with them for the next project.
