I have gained a wide variety of experience working on everything from 500 year old thatched barn conversion to new build properties. I worked as an apprentice to receive an NVQ level 3 in carpentry and focused mainly on that in my first few years, but soon expanded into other avenues such as tiling, flooring, fencing, paving etc.

I couldn’t be more impressed with Compass Construction! I first hired them to fit a kitchen I had purchased (which they did much cheaper than the quote from the place I purchased it) and the work was fantastic. Clear communication from start to finish, flawless work. Their attention to detail is incredible. They were polite, attentive, punctual and did a fantastic job (at a great price as well). I’ve since had a lot of work carried out by them. Including incredible bespoke cabinet making (which I am blown away by), flooring/skirting and groundworks all completed to an impeccable standard. I’d give 6 stars if I could.

I have put a 30 mile radius in my preferences but if the job sounds interesting I will travel further. Recently I have worked in Sheringham, Reedham and Westleton. I set out buildings and extensions, dig the foundations and concrete. Lay the bricks and blocks and install first floor joists. Sometimes I put the roof on and then felt, batten and tile. I lay the drainage and landscape. I am methodical in my work and have always achieved high standards.

A & S builders have been brilliant throughout our build and we couldn't recommend them enough. From the start of the project, when Alan came round to quote for the job all the way through to the end. The thing that ultimately made us choose A&S is he sent the quote through on time and was happy to come around to discuss different options and give his input several times until we were happy to move forward. We felt like we could trust them in our home, which with a newborn was particularly important to us. When work started, Sean and Jordan joined Alan and were on 'site' regularly and worked hard throughout. They all gave good advice, were open to ideas and changes we had, and were a pleasure to have in the house at all times. There were a couple of hold-ups along the way - supply issues out of their hands, but they went out of their way to make up for this. When we got to the end of the build, we were clearly sad to see them go as we asked them to do a bit of the landscaping for us too and wish we had a bit more in the pot to do more, but hopefully will have them back again in the not too distant future, but in the meantime, we have a lovely new kitchen dining space with corner bi-folds and a new porcelain patio surrounding the extension and an updated utility room, that we are very happy with and will make a lovely space to grow in as a family.

Garry Bond Creative Construction EA. Builder and Architectural Designer I engaged Garry to build and be the principal contractor in my bungalow renovation. This included a significant loft conversion; link extension and garage rebuild. I had other builder’s turndown the job due to the complexity around the structural changes required. I was impressed with Garry straight away from our initial telephone conversation. I like to think I am a good judge of character being a professional engineering manager myself. I was right, Garry has and continues to be after 7 months a trustworthy, honest, upfront professional project manager, builder and Architectural drawing specialist. (I have also added a large patio and front driveway with large electric gates to the contract so we can have Garry on site to make sure all the required works are complete before he starts another contract, he drew up plans for the driveway so we could visualise the finished layout etc) As with all builds there has been up and downs. Changes and adjustments to original specification, and milestones. Nothing phases Garry. Any issue is dealt with and he provides options and recommendations too. He organised all his trades including the bricklayers, roofers, electrician, plumbers and plasterers. With weekly updates on what’s happening and why etc to help manage expectations etc. He was even happy to deal with a solar panel install for me which I had arranged myself and fitted in installation with his roofers. My wife and I genuinely feel lucky to have found someone who cares about the standard of work like it was their own house.
