Positively, certain aspects of the finishing, particularly tiling, were carried out to a good standard. However, the overall experience was mixed due to significant issues. There were notable challenges during the project involving basic logistics and site management, leading to considerable inconvenience that seemed avoidable. Furthermore, the quality of workmanship was inconsistent; while some parts were good, other areas involving fittings and fixtures showed a lack of attention to detail in the finish, requiring later adjustments. Communication during the process could also be difficult, particularly regarding problem-solving and planning for materials. While we appreciated the parts done well, the project was let down by these inconsistencies and process issues, leading to some ongoing snagging and disappointment.

Extremely Disappinted with Planetium Construction- I hired Planetium for a 59k renovation job. Initially, the workmanship was acceptable only because I supervised closely and had them redo substandard work multiple times. However, before the job has been complete, I discovered already a roof leak in the master bedroom, direcly under the newly renovated bathroom. Despite my repeated requests, Planetium refused to take responsiblity or fix the issue. Just telling me need additional charges for the work. Worst still, Adrian the owner, demanded I pay the final balance of 1840 before they would address the GF heating which stopped working after they installed the new controller. When I reasonably refused to pay before they complete the job , Adrian swore at me over the phone the most offensive language. Furthermore, they promised to replace a new Miele microwave for the one they damaged during installation but now just walked away. Leaving me unresolved issues and additional repair cost!

Very happy with the work Gesti did for us. We just brought our first home and the ceiling honestly wasn’t looking the best. Lots of cracks and slightly warping. Gesti was able to come in and secure all the cracks and plaster the entire ceiling for us. He did an amazing job. Will use him again I highly recommend. !!

Jon was able to take a failed project from a previous contractor and manage historic building preservation, regulation in Westminster, a lack of parking, plumbing from the Victorian age, and a demanding client to deliver a beautiful result. I love my garden flat extension, it manages to respect the historic nature of a building from the 1840s while also adding amenities to be proud of in 2025. My partner and I hired Alonso and Alex to undertake a full renovation of our 3-bedroom house in SE8. Having received quotes from several other contractors, the moment we met them, it was clear they were clear communicators, approachable and dedicated to their clients. We’re incredibly happy with the work they did. The scope of work was highly varied, including rectifying historical damp issues in the lower ground room, external repairs to the roof drains and chimney, installing two new bathrooms, plus all the other internal and external work you’d expect from a full renovation. All of which was completed to a very high standard! They were always open to discussing and rectifying anything we weren’t completely happy with, or problem-solving whenever unexpected issues arose (which always happens when renovating a property of this size!). The team are lovely, trustworthy people who are a genuine pleasure to have in your home. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

KBL recently completed a side infill extension for us that involved a lot of complex hurdles (e.g., requiring special foundations because of a Thames Water waste pipe and steel beams). In hindsight, we were very lucky to have hired them because they made the whole experience stress-free by explaining everything to us and handling our neighbours, contractors, structural engineer and building control for us. The amount of digging in confined spaces and hard, physical labour they put into this job is amazing. The extension looks great, is solid, warm and watertight. The wetroom they built inside it hasn't had any problems - plumbing is working great. Their plastering quality is excellent. We had to live in the property during the 4 months of construction but we felt relaxed and 100% trusted KBL to respect and care for the house. They have a lot of experience, know the building regulations, use quality materials and methods, they answered all of our questions with patience and always responded to my phone calls + texts quickly. They're so good that we'll give them an additional job to do which we originally planned for in spring 2024. Everyone we know wants KBL's contact details and we definitely want to ask them back for future work.

We have been working with Derek Borkiewicz (Sebek Construction) on a renovation of a garden flat in Little Venice since last autumn. We needed to completely restore the whole flat, including the garden. This was our second renovation project and by this time we knew what we wanted to do, which mistakes to avoid and what to pretend from a qualified builder. We will never stop saying how lucky we have been to find Derek and his team! Derek is not only a professional builder who is very careful to the smallest of the details. He is not only a very good project manager who is constantly checking the work of his men. Derek is a friend who takes on board a project like it is his own project. He suggested the most convenient and best solutions for any problem we came across during the works. There wasn’t a time when he didn’t know what to do to solve a difficult situation (and there are lots of small and big issues coming up in a renovation work) no matter how complicate they were and how long it took to solve them. His availability and his courtesy are incredible above all in a fast running city like London. This is priceless to us. His hard work can be seen in the wonderful result we reached with this garden flat. If we ever decide to work on another project we won’t think twice about working with Derek once again. Kel and his team worked on my single storey extension with bifold doors and glass roof. He also did some landscaping in my garden, replacing the fencing and installing a raised patio with cedar battens to the side. Overall I was very pleased with the work Kel did. He is a good communicator and frequently visited the site to keep on top of the work. Kel was happy to discuss requests and was flexible with design changes. The bulk of the work was completed on time with just some minor snags remaining, but the finish is excellent. It's been a long and stressful journey, but it's been easier with the friendly support and professional approach Kel has taken to his job. I'd be happy to recommend Craft of London and provide a reference on request.
