He was Certified electrician but the parts changed to put it back with a new unit wasn't good. It leaked,bolts were cracked, the unit is too hot on the water, looks like a thermostat issue even with a new unit. I now have to call the manufacturer to see what can be done with the new unit or have it replaced.

Phil is a very pleasant person and did a good job. He explained the various options to me before starting the work and also their drawbacks. He explained that the wall concerned in my 1930s built semi may not be thick enough for the new backbox which could result in the hole coming through on the other side. Also that the wall was made of flimsy material which would crumble when hacked into and that it would be difficult to get a fixing. He had earlier mentioned the option of leaving the single gang backbox intact and mounting a special 3-gang socket on to it. As I had already purchased the 3-gang metal backbox and socket I decided to have this installed. In the event, the wall proved to be just thick enough to accommodate the new 3-gang backbox and he has used glue to fix the backbox and socket. I will see tomorrow how effective this has been once the glue has set. Fingers crossed.

Discussed job required. Agreed price, day and time. Day 1 - Had to chase twice to find out if they were coming or not, although they were the one who contacted me, never arrived. Day 2 - Set new time of 1-5pm, then messaged at 4.40pm would arriving at 6/6.30pm. We cancelled as pointless. Two days wasted. Have also learned to not tick 'hired' before the trade person attends a job, as I now have to readvertise the job from the scratch as you cannot edit a job once you've clicked 'hired'. More time wasted.
