Latest review:Conversions - General-Scott and Marc were absolutely great! We had a conservatory built by another company who did a terrible job and then we couldn't get hold of them. Scott and Marc agreed to sort the issues out and have done a brilliant job which was not easy. Would highly recommend this company for any building work or conservatories.

Latest review:Conversions - General-Although Chris could do the work I needed doing within a month of me hiring him and his workmanship was of good quality I am afraid to report that his professionalism was not. He took my house key when he left even though we agreed he would post it through the letter box. After I had contacted him saying he didn’t need to take the key and reminded him we had agreed for him to put it through the door he didn’t return to do the work keep putting it off until he returned 4 days later. After the work was finished he issued an invoice for well over £200+ what he quoted. He added on VAT to his labour which was not discussed and tried charging me for materials that I had provided anyway. Also he did jobs that I had said not to do because I could do myself but then used this to try and make out I had a good deal and would be for free. When I politely asked for a breakdown of his invoice after he had text me asking to add more onto his invoice He then got very passive aggressive with me over voicemail, numerous phone calls which I had to decline due to his tone and text messages sent in capital letters being quite frankly very rude. Turns out those ‘free’ jobs he charged me for. He claims he is fairly priced.. I would disagree. £300 per day plus VAT on top of this, this is extortionate. I am sorry to say that I won’t be recommending Chris or be returning to him to have work done again. Take caution.

Latest review:Conversions - General-Kevin has now completed two jobs for me, bricking up an external door and levelling a floor. I am really happy with the standard of work and found Kevin to be a really nice guy, very straightforward. I'll definitely be asking him to come back for future jobs.

Latest review:Conversions - General-We are very pleased with the work carried out by Blackdown & Batten to combine our kitchen and dining room into one room, infill one door and patio doors, etc. The quality of the materials used and workmanship was excellent and the team were flexible to accommodate a number of changes. Subcontractors were used for plumbing, flooring, brickwork and decoration and we were very happy with the first three. With regard to the decorating the standard of protection and preparation was not as good as we expected and the quality of the wall emulsion paint was poor as evidenced a few weeks after completion with some of the original paint showing through. To their credit B&B have agreed to carry out remedial works. Having said all that we would be happy to use B & B on future works and have no hesitation in recommending them to others.
