Quoted £1500 to supply and fit flu. Reduced to £650 as client had bought already. You can buy high grade flu and parts for around £400. Sent him clear pictures of the chimney and roof in advance. He turned up with just one long ladder and claimed it needed a cherry picker. He didn't have any excuse as he had seen clearly what the job entailed from the pictures I sent. Cherry picker fitted the flu so effectively he only actually fitted a plate and the wood burner which took him a few hours and still charged £650. Clearly shouldn’t be doing this type of work if he’s scared of going on a roof ladder. If I didn’t need the certificate for the client I would have done myself with our roof ladder. Don’t use - better to get a professional who isn’t scared of ladders and not out to make quick money for minimal effort.Latest review:Fireplaces & Flues-

We first arranged for Paul to visit 11.30am on friday 24th January. My partner rearranged his work to work from home and midday message me to say no one had shown up. I messaged Paul to ask his ETA and he responded by saying I’ll confirm times with you later. I then responded that we had agreed 1130 and asked what time he was coming and did not get a response until he called me at 5 pm. Paul explained that his van had been damaged by another car and he was unable to make it and we eventually rearranged for him to come over on Friday 31st of January at 11:30. Again my partner rearranged work to be in for his visit and again at 12 he had not shown up. I messaged Paul and asked what his ETA was. I did not get a response until 1435 to say he was held up and he would not be over until between 3 pm and 5 pm. I messaged to say that we would not be able to do it after 5 pm and he did not turn up again, we still have not heard anything.
