Two-bedroom carpets, both rooms we stripped ourselves, all the old carpet had been removed, so it's just a fitting job. booked in and arrived on time, we helped carry the carpet upstairs as it was heavy. The front room was fine, but the back room, for some reason, was loose and puckering up in places. I contacted him and said he would come later in the week to correct and pick up his jumper he left behind. Well, that never happened, and it was holding us up. The company has a shop that we did not know about, and we won't be going there after this. While laying vinyl for me this man informed me that he knew someone I went to college with but refused to tell me who. Sadly he didn’t have the same discretion while discussing me (a potential client) with his friends before taking the job. He told me my new house was in a bad area and asked how much I paid for it. Stupidly I told him. He no doubt ran back to his friend to tell them. Of course what I should have said was it’s none of his business and he was highly unprofessional. 4.9529 reviews Gave an initial quote at mybuilder for £1325. Went to his shop to discuss the requirement, quoted £1500 for the entire work. 2 weeks later as discussed, came and completed the job, but started asking for £1750 despite the fact nothing additional was done rather they left the boiler cabinet undone. When I said I can only pay £1500 as discussed he abused me to no end. Needless to say, I would never recommend them to anyone. Work quality: Did not do the boiler cabinet (picture attached, grey carpet is new installation, beige is old). Left the entire rubbish of installation in the rooms. Took me 2 hours to vaccum and clean everything. Additionally, now two months in and the floor creaks more than earlier because of how they fit the carpet. At least I got new carpets, but got abuse for free. Thanks for the unpleasant experience to make me understand how to deal with traders.
