Flooring Fitter in Truro
Please do not invite me to your job if you won’t even reply to my messages . Hi my name is Dean and I'm a floorlayer based just outside liskeard. I have 25 years experience in the trade, but don't just rely on my time served, and regularly attend training courses to keep up to date with the latest methods and regulations. I am cornwalls ONLY floorskills master installer in LVT( number 13) and have been an LVT instructor also for Floorskills for the last 3 years. I specialise but am not limited to installation of design floors, herringbone and basketweave being firm favourites. I also fit carpets to a high standard, including sewn bullnoses for bottom steps which not many other fitters can do as it’s a bit of a lost art. I look forward to working with you 😁

Hard Flooring- 23 Dec 2024
We contacted Paul in November 2024 about a possible reflooring project. He responded promptly and, living nearby, visited the next day. Now that's service! His visit was unhurried, supportive and informative. Paul gave us excellent advice on options, guidance on preparing the areas and tips on where to view and purchase flooring. We chose engineered wood, prepared the floors and purchased the materials. Paul provided a clear, competitive breakdown of charges and a timeline. With five rooms to do, it was no small job, but Paul aimed to finish before Christmas. He started in early December and completed it in two weeks. Paul's work was exemplary, showing commitment, care and precision. His attention to detail and communication ensured that every decision was thoughtful, leaving us with a stunning floor beautifully fitted in time for the holidays. Paul was a pleasure to work with: reliable, diligent, cheerful and flexible. We wholeheartedly recommend Sidwell Flooring and Paul.

What practical training or hands-on experience do you have in floor fitting?

Many Truro floor fitters complete apprenticeships or training courses such as NVQ Level 2 in Floorcovering Occupations. This involves on-site assessment and practical work covering carpet, vinyl, wood, or laminate flooring installations.

How do you prepare the floor surface before fitting?

A local Truro floor fitter should explain how they assess and prepare the subfloor, removing old coverings, cleaning and levelling the surface, and addressing any issues to ensure a smooth, long-lasting flooring installation in your Truro property.

Can you share examples of previous floor fitting jobs you’ve done in Truro?

Hearing about local work helps you understand a prospective Truro floor fitter’s familiarity with different floor types and challenges common in the area, such as moisture control or uneven flooring. Take a look at their MyBuilder profile, as they may have images of their previous works on there.

Will you provide a clear, detailed quote for materials, labour, and any additional costs?

A transparent quote allows you to know exactly what you’re paying for. It’s also useful to ask how a floor fitter in Truro will account for any unexpected costs if any issues arise once the work is underway.
