I have a great deal of knowledge in carpentry and joinery on large scale and small. As well as building, plumbing, roofing etc. Loft cons, extentions, mancaves though to kitchen fits, doors. I'm used to it all. And have a very keen eye for a quality finish. I'm out to make a living, not a fortune. Not interested in ripping people off. When I'm employed to do a job, I take it seriously, and with pride.
Chris came on the day as planned just 1.5 days work. Put up are oak staircase rails and new spindles etc. Chris is very polite respectful, communicates well and gives suggestion and options. Graham and his guys came at the time arranged and carried out the work as agreed. He always explained what was to be going to be done, so that we understood and would be happy with the finished product. Avoid, avoid, avoid - although, I suspect from the lack of recent reviews, this individual is no longer operating under this profile. Dave Allen (Southsea Building & Maintenance) is personable enough but did nothing but harm my property. He mis-diagnosed the main the problem; used incorrect materials (for eg, tried to patch a hole in my EPDM rubber roof with felt & used the entirely wrong sealant around the roof); and caused more damage than was already there (eg caused a new, large, damp patch in my stairwell). Dave at first happily offered a refund yet after 18 months and many excuses I am still out of pocket and facing a hefty bill to put things right. He obviously had no intention of refunding. After much wasted time, I realize I should have known better.
