Christopher built a bespoke ‘garden pub’ at the end of our garden. It was a very specific plot to build on, requiring a bespoke build which Christopher handled excellently in terms of the design and offering innovative suggestions and ideas, including incorporating the stump of a tree in the space into the build, rather than building around or removing the stump completely. It now makes a perfect focal point as the base of a table in the corner of the pub. Using log lap to for the exterior wood structure, the finish looks brilliant and it is always complimented by visitors. The interior finish is pallet wood burnt walls and MDF panelling to create a traditional pub look. Christopher’s willingness to work with me to fine tune the design and innovate whilst keeping the project within budget, and completing on time in advance of my wife’s birthday party in mid August, means I would thoroughly recommend him and his workmanship.

Keith came out to price the job, as it is his company, and I was reassured that he had considerable decking experience. However,on the day agreed for work to be done two different people arrived. Having recently had a poor experience with other workmen, and watching progress from a distance, I thought the task was being done too quickly and without the recommended attention to detail eg: staggered boards with gaps between. I contacted Keith who then spoke to his joiner by phone. Then his workman came into the house uninvited with no mask on to speak to me. I asked him to leave the house and went out to speak to him. His manner was abrupt and confrontational. We calmed it down with him assuring me he was doing things properly. The decking was done very well and completed in the time allocated, but the misunderstanding could have been avoided if the joiner actually going to carry out the work had been present when Keith visited in the first place. As a single woman I shouldn't have to be wary but it is not unusual for some workpeople to take advantage......
