Giles is a very capable carpenter/builder and in the end I was overall ok with the work done. However, his behaviour and care of property left a lot to be desired. He has no customer service skills and the loudness and nature of conversations were not appropriate in a small cul de sac. Despite being asked many times by myself and even his fellow workman he continued to shout and use inappropriate language. The thing that upset me the most was just the lack of professionalism and respect for property. The work required lots of sawing and cutting of tiles. This was done all over my garden lawn and has virtually ruined it, no work sheets under the work table to stop stuff going over lawn. Paint over floor and grass, cig buts everywhere, dried cement left all over road. To be fair Giles did offer to come back and sort stuff out after I had pointed stuff out to him but to be honest I don’t want him back here. He could not sort lawn anyway and I am having to get gardener to sort. He has left bags of sand at front of property which he promised to collect - they have been here for days now. There are other issues which I will speak to My builder directly about. It’s a shame actually because I can see that Giles is actually a pretty amazing carpenter and builder. If he can sort out the other issues I reckon that he will become a top rated.
