I was able to get my own boiler and just pay for the extra material and installation. Not all traders accept this. The price was very competitive. I was sceptical at the start but was reassuring on how quickly the job was completed. There was an issue with the thermostat but was sorted out the following week. The gas certificate, building compliance and boiler registration was completed promptly. Would definitely recommend, please allow Shami to quote before making a decision, you won't be disappointed.

We have been working with Derek Borkiewicz (Sebek Construction) on a renovation of a garden flat in Little Venice since last autumn. We needed to completely restore the whole flat, including the garden. This was our second renovation project and by this time we knew what we wanted to do, which mistakes to avoid and what to pretend from a qualified builder. We will never stop saying how lucky we have been to find Derek and his team! Derek is not only a professional builder who is very careful to the smallest of the details. He is not only a very good project manager who is constantly checking the work of his men. Derek is a friend who takes on board a project like it is his own project. He suggested the most convenient and best solutions for any problem we came across during the works. There wasn’t a time when he didn’t know what to do to solve a difficult situation (and there are lots of small and big issues coming up in a renovation work) no matter how complicate they were and how long it took to solve them. His availability and his courtesy are incredible above all in a fast running city like London. This is priceless to us. His hard work can be seen in the wonderful result we reached with this garden flat. If we ever decide to work on another project we won’t think twice about working with Derek once again. Andras recently completed a full bathroom refresh for our flat in Bromley, including demolition, tiling, plumbing, flooring, electrical fixes and installation work. Throughout the project he was reliable, hardworking and solution-oriented, especially when unexpected issues were uncovered during the renovation, including damaged joists, floor levelling and electrical work. He handled these professionally and kept the project moving forward. Communication was good throughout, and he was always willing to come back for adjustments and final touch-ups when needed. The final result feels modern, clean and much improved from the original bathroom. Overall, we were happy with the result and appreciated the effort and care put into the project.

Adam Favor and NOVA Design & Build are a nice bunch of guys and they are reliable/helpful. However, when it came to coving, architrave and flooring, acceptable standards were unfortunately not met. Other specialists had to be brought in to re-do around 20% of the job; namely certain sections of the cornice and door architrave. In the former, a few things were below standard including: 1) not joining the friezes in the correct places, 2) cutting inaccurately, 3) leaving gaps, 4) using silicon as a filler and adhesive. For the door architrave, the wood was misaligned and not glued/nailed properly. The flooring was not laid well because there are huge gaps at times; sometimes at 1 cm. Since the kitchen has been installed, it is too late to take up the floorboards again. The most dubious thing of all in this job was the quote received for decorating which was c. 15k for 47 m2. This included plastering repairs, but ultimately the job got done by someone else to a high standard at 7k.
