I have been in the construction industry for over 20 years and have gained experience in a vast array of projects in both domestic and commercial schemes. I have been a building control surveyor for around 19 years and have worked in both the public and private sectors with 15 years in Local Authority Building Control and 4 years with a private building control body. This has allowed me to gain a vast amount of knowledge of the construction industry on a wide range of projects in both domestic and commercial areas. I have extensive onsite experience and enjoy working with people including clients, contractors and any other parties involved in the project i am dealing with. I also have my own architectural design business. This started off working for my Fathers company and producing plans and working drawings for domestic style projects but i have now taken this a stage further. I have trained myself in CAD and now work on a variety of schemes across the whole of south Wales and English borders. We place a great importance on listening to our clients needs and delivering projects, which fulfil aspirations whilst minimising the impact on the environment. While many architects remain working in 2D, we believe in working in 3D from the start of projects. Therefore all of our projects are modelled in our state-of-the-art computer aided design (CAD) software. For existing buildings, we often start the project by measuring and modelling the existing building in 3D. This enables us and clients to better understand the existing building form. From this, we can propose more coherent and practical solutions from the start than if we were working solely in 2D. For new buildings, we often start a project using a topographical survey that has been measured by an external topographical surveying company. We can use this information to better understand land form so that your building can be more carefully positioned on the site. Working in 3D from an early stage also makes the later and more technically complex stages more efficient, with changes easier to accommodate / advise on and collaboration more seamless with other project consultants.
