We have pictures available of the awful job and damage that Oscar did. He was asked to replace an old back door, fix a window frame and replace a section of exterior sill. The door he put on, we were later advised, was not an exterior door. It was warped and badly fitted. This door and the old frame were damaged when Oscar put the door on. The door stopped closing after a few weeks. The bottom fell off the window frame he ‘fixed’ from the first floor into our yard within a few weeks of the job being done. Luckily no one was hurt. The section of sill he replaced is apparently the wrong kind of wood and is not fitted properly. Some render came off when he put the door on. He did not make good. He seemed a nice guy and so we paid him half and asked him to come back and make good. We sent him the pics of the damage. He did not come back, cancelling once. After he cancelled more and more things went wrong with the jobs he had supposedly done and so we decided not to have him back. We have had to pay to have a new door and new frame installed and the window frame fixed. The local carpenter also took pictures of what he described as the worst job he had ever seen. A second independent carpenter agreed it was an awful job. I have asked Oscar for our money back. But he does not respond,in spite of my sending repeated texts to the number we had communicated on. I intend to pursue a damages claim in county court. I don’t think he can be a qualified tradesman of any kind.
