Windows & Doors (uPVC & Metal)- 26 Mar 2025
AVOID this company! They contacted me on MyBuilder offering to do the job. I accepted their quote and explained clearly that the work had to be done on Tuesday, 25th March. After accepting their quote, they stopped responding. I had to chase them multiple times via phone, text, and MyBuilder messages. Eventually, they got back to me and delayed the job to Wednesday 26th March. On Wednesday morning, I had to chase them again to confirm they were coming — because by now, they already seemed unreliable. Their reply: “I am not 100% sure, my van has an issue at the moment and can’t drive it…” Since then, they’ve ignored my three messages and three phone calls. No contact. No apology. No effort to reschedule. Just silence. They were fully aware that this job had a strict deadline and they’ve completely screwed me over. 100% time-waster - totally unprofessional and completely disrespectful of people’s time. Don’t let them mess you around — avoid this company.

Windows & Doors (uPVC & Metal)- 3 Sep 2024
wanted to have window film installed: red flag events on the day in chronological order: 1. arrived 2 hours late 2. advised that film be installed on the outside if the property but it can also be installed inside if i wished to do so. 3. borrowed scissors to cut the film 4. the first tint installed was cut jagged, not straight on the sides revealing light leaks of irregular patterns whilst bottom had a huge gap that they were planning to cover with another sliver of film. this was when i told them to stop what they're doing and not waste anymore of my time. 5. they demanded i pay £20 for their unprofessionalism, which i reluctantly did as i feared for me and my family's safety they used my job as training ground to install film on my windows. good luck to you if use them. We should be protected by MyBuilder from cowboys like these.

Here are some key questions to ask a door fitter in Norwood:

Are you fully qualified and insured?

It’s best to choose a door fitter in Norwood who has proper qualifications and insurance to handle the installation safely. Look for certifications like FENSA and confirm that the fitter carries public liability insurance to cover any potential damage to your property.

Do you offer a warranty on your work?

A local Norwood door fitter should offer a warranty for both the door and the installation. This ensures that any issues with the door or fitting will be addressed without additional cost for a specified period, typically 1–2 years for installation.

Do you need to conduct a survey before installation?

Norwood door fitters may conduct a pre-installation survey to ensure the door fits properly. This involves taking measurements and assessing the condition of the door frame to avoid issues during the fitting process.

What is the estimated timeline for installation?

The Norwood fitter should provide a clear timeline for how long the installation will take. A typical installation can take anywhere from a few hours to several days, depending on the complexity of the job and the number of doors being fitted.
