  David tiled our kitchen splashback in a herringbone style. We are absolutely delighted with his workmanship. Very responsive communication. Couldn’t fault anything and we would definitely use him again in the future. The photos show the electrical sockets not fixed back. We asked David to leave them like that as we are replacing them.

  Tom and his guys started the job fine and the work progressed satisfactorily. Tom was due to come back to finish off a small bit of the work they’d done (finishing off one area with a neat chamfer of cement) & continue tiling another room. However, since answering my first text when he said he couldn’t come back on the date we’d agreed, I’ve not had any response from him to text, phone call or email. Tom & his guys did a reasonable job of laying the tiles, but I’ve had to spend hours & hours cleaning splashes of cement off the faces of tiles which I’d already painstakingly cleaned up (being reclaimed tiles) and chiselling out cement from the joints so I can grout. We did agree that I would do the grouting, but I wasn’t expecting to have to spend literally days cleaning & preparing before I could grout! So overall, I’m disappointed with Tom. He could have, at the least, let me know that he didn’t want to do any more, if that was the problem, but to simply not communicate is very unprofessional and I’m afraid gives the building trade a bad name, as that is what you read so often about builders. I thought Tom was different, but it seems not.
