This builder was originally hired to repair the cowls on two chimneys. This job was completed and another more major job was given to him to replace a 20m section of fascia, fascia capping, eaves protectors, felt and guttering. The initial stage of fascia and guttering went well until an unskilled person was left unsupervised to complete the eaves protectors, felting, and ridge tiles replacement. This part of the job was so poor and unsightly I asked for it to be redone. The builder agreed that it was poor and agreed to get it redone. Many promises and weeks later, it remains an eyesore and the builder does not respond to my messages asking for completion of the job. It is now clear that he does not intend to do it. I seriously regret employing him and know that I made a stupid mistake in paying before completion. Have I never learnt any lessons? I have photos and messages available to support what I’m saying.

Not just a wall repair, a wall rebuild and terrace re lay From start to finish I could not be happier, quoted quickly, advised me of a date quickly for start of job and started on that date, completed in time despite horrendous weather, always on hand to answer questions personally that I had and I added more to job and this was not a problem, very busy business so snap him up quickly, he is coming back soon to sort my roof and other bits :)

DIDN'T COMPLETE THE JOB. We were very pleased with Westech in the beginning. They came and said they would fibreglass our balcony in an attempt to stop a bad leak. The fibreglass went down and we knew it might not stop the leak. It didn't but we were happy to pay the £3k anyway to improve drainage under the boards. We retained £250 in order for them to replace the decking they took up and they promised to come back and do so as soon as our window glass was installed. We kept in touch. But when we asked them to come back we just got radio silence. No response, no nothing. Now we are left with a black tarmac balcony, unusable and no way to get the boards put back. SO DISAPPOINTED. We thought them being an old Cornish family firm they would be honourable. We were wrong. Don't use them.

Restoration & Refurbishment- 17 May 2018
Keith Gary and Dan have done a wonderful job on my house starting with the roof and refitting including most walls. They have listened to what I wanted and carried out the recommendations from the lime company which has increased the insulation incredibly. The job was challenging due to lack of parking and access but they have worked amazingly hard to finish on time and on budget. Where possible Keith has salvaged and adapted existing fixtures and given lots of guidance and expert advice on decisions about what was practical and expedient . The volume of work was enormous due to the completely run down state of the property but it is now barely recognisable as a beautiful dwelling conserving as much of the original as possible. All the work has been to the highest standard and skill and structural reinforcement and repairs done wherever necessary. The existing heating system has been adapted and conserved where possible , again keeping the costs within budget, and the new kitchen and bathroom installed .Keith communicated with me at all necessary junctures and never seemed irked by daft questions or having to explain things more than once .He has made a lovely slate plinth for the kitchen woodburner and everywhere you look are examples of problem solving . So I am well happy with all the work and feel that I was very fortunate to have such skilled builders who never lost their sense of humour when things were very challenging with the weather and working conditions.

Fascias & Soffits- 16 May 2026
WF Homecare were prompt in coming out to quote and we initially felt confident hiring them. The front fascia, soffit and guttering were installed a few days later. As it had not rained at that point, we then proceeded with having the rear fascia, soffit and guttering replaced. However, as soon as it rained we had leaks at both the front and back. I emailed the business owner, who attempted a fix, but when it rained again the same leaks appeared. I emailed again but received no reply, and later managed to speak to him in person. A second attempt to fix the leaks was carried out, and I will see what happens in the next rainfall. There are other general standard issues, but I have focused on the main point here. Also for both jobs we paid him promptly. Yet but both jobs he emailed me within 1/4 hour of sending his invoices, chasing payment! Based on the workmanship issues, the communication difficulties, and our overall experience with the company, we would not hire WF Homecare again.
