laying self levelling compound without removing kitchen units

Hi All, I need to level the floor in my kitchen prior to laying some porcelain tiles. My question is how can I lay this with the kitchen units already in place? I can obviously remove the kickboards to get access beneath the units but how do I work around the feet which the unit stand on? Can I empty the units (reducing the weight) and then lift all the feet up and rely on the screws holding the units to the wall? Once the floor is level I could then tile beneath the kickboards and wind the feet back down to the new floor surface. Thanks in Advance! Okay so some additional info... Floor is 9m2, concrete with what looks like not too much variation ~5-10mm max. I've read in other forums that this is too much and would need to be levelled. I've certainly never read of adhesive handling upto 20mm of variation. Wouldn't this cost a fortune in adhesive too??

Floor leveling can be done depending what you are trying to accomplish. You do not need to remove the units and can reduce the load to unscrew the legs. How much of level are we talking about and how large of the area? Why not use the superior tile adhesive such as Keraquick white and build up under the tiles with adhesive. It is flexible and can build up to 20mm. FYI no adhesive manufacturer will honor product guarantee if PVA is used as primer. Use approved tile adhesive primer such as Mapei AC, it is not expensive. Hope this helps. 5-10mm? For sure can be achieved by good flexible adhesive. Price per bag £25, 20kg bag. 3 hour dry time You may need 4-5 bags, if so. Wickes self leveling compound apx £20 per bag. Either on would be fine. I would not bother with moving units unless you really want tile under it or it is required.
