Necessary to fit a "Spirotrap" to a combi boiler

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.43 PM

Hi everyone, We recently had a combi boiler breakdown which was repaired by a British Gas engineer. On leaving he recommended that we fit a Spirotrap filter to prolong the life of the boiler (its only just coming up to 4 years old). http://www.spirotrapmb2.co.uk/ What does everyone think about these devices in general, are they necessary or is it BG trying to squeeze some (more) money out of me? The quote for supply and fit also came to £275 - not sure that's even competitive. I've found the device for about £100 online Thanks all
